Not really. He plays the puck in front of his own net and goes on stupid rushes too much

He is a 5-6. For the assets we paid we needed better.

Well, it is crazy that he is a 5/6 but has been outplaying opposition as a 3/4 since we've had injuries...

????

Matthews has more goals than ovy in his first 500 games. All star teams. Rockets Pearson hart.

Marner is a 2 time first team all star. Consistent 95 pt player and a selke finalist.

Nylander has been a step below for 8 years.

He has had a phenomenal 15-20 games.

That’s not the same as 7-8 years.
While I agree, guys like Marchand were late bloomers. Willy starting to look like that and salaries need to a fair valuation of near future production. I don't sweat it. Nylander has a show me season and he is doing amazing. We will see how it goes.

Klingberg basically just drags everyone down... McCabe looks good outside of that.

Lagesson/Benoit is somehow amazing... not complaining, just funny how good they have been when Benoit looked so bad in pre-season.

Willy has been a great talent but an inconsistent floater for many years.

He does show up in the playoffs. But I am concerned any time a player goes nuts in a contract year.

If he wants 11 I don’t want to give him that.

I think he would revert back to 40-45 85-95 pts

Gets the puck in the slot on a mini 3 on 2, zero traffic and it still doesn't get on net.

the NBA really knows how to market it's players and league. It's a stark contrast to whatever it is the NHL has been trying to do since like forever.

sorry - just saw the Heist commercial for NBA in season tournament. Real marketing at work there.

Kinda crazy that we lead the league in hits this season. It’s been nice to see that part of our game has really evolved and Matthews has kind of led the way

This point streak he’s on right now is crazy but even crazier is it doesn’t appear to be influenced by luck it’s just an unstoppable player doing his thing

0 players from Toronto in the top 50 for hits too... it is by committee, nice to see, but also, feel like we've had less possession this year (been better recently), so maybe that is a lot of it too.

Nylander built like a tank and basically a figure skater. He's good for another 6-8 years. There will be drop off for sure but can see him being a consistent 70 points in his late 30s like Sundin

I hate Justin Bourne, but he is saying what I’ve been saying about McCabe .

8-2 with McCabe
1-3-2 without McCabe

He isn’t perfect but he brings elements we need

McCabe is generally solid, but ideally he’d be a #5 when we upgrade the D and I think he’d flourish there

He has no issues flourishing in his current role. If he's a #5, the Leafs have the best defense in the league probably. He's been very good. I don't understand what people see when they watch defensemen play.
