This is what needs to improve as the season progresses. Most nights they are just playing well enough to let the talent imbalance eventually take over. Most of the time it works, but it's not a good habit.
I wouldn't go that far, but honest Nylander is the better game breaker at this point. I think if you need a goal and you had to Choose Nylander or Matthews to score I'm choosing Willy.

matthews is a better player, what he doesnt have that willy does is speed to burn, that creates a ton of advantages for nylander.

No, because most of the time against teams like this Toronto will win, whether they are trailing in the game, tied, whatever, because in any sport most of the time talent carries the day. The problem with this team has always been relying too much on their talent to take over and not necessarily winning by out working the other team. They need to do both in order to win when it matters.

Yeah Rielly was really good today. They should be winning these games easier though. Not sure what to make of this team at the moment

A really, really talented team that sometimes relies too much on that talent and not on work ethic. They need more games against good teams, which they aren't going to get many of between now and the end of the calendar year. When you look at their schedule, it looks to get tougher in March until the end of the season. That's when we will find out how much progress they have made. Until then, it's great to rack up points in these games and it will help them catch Boston for the lead in the Atlantic, but I'm not sure this will be the best stretch for making critical decisions about the lineup.
Do we have something in Lagesson? And where the heck did he come from? Seems like a very serviceable 3rd pairing D. And kudos to Marner for his two-hander on Ek
Knies looks like a fit, Bertuzzi looks alright. I don’t think it’s going to be easy but you have to identify what the bottom six needs to look like and grab players that fit that mould
