Plenty of guys take until their 22-24 before establishing themselves. Especially guys who aren't coming from a top 10 draft pedigree (Robertson was himself a 2nd round pick who tend to take longer)
Maybe that's true, but didn't they used to say that about Josh Leivo?

Have we seen lines yet for tonight? Hoping to get a look at Jarnkrok. He's play most (all?) of his career in the West so I can't say I've watched a ton of him.

Sad to hear Douglas isn't going tonight.

He's playing on a line with Bunting and Matthews

Interesting. Wonder if it's too early to start thinking about lines but I wouldn't mind splitting Matthews/Marner/Nylander on three separate lines and having Marner back with Tavares. Tavares has always played his best alongside Mitch.

85 is SDA? I honestly think if he is given a chance he can succeed, he always seems to look better when he plays against better competition.

Have to think this is his make or break year. The Leafs likely move on after this season IMO if he can't show he is almost ready

I've always thought he was ready or almost ready, so calm and smart with the puck, like a very poor man's Marner.

You hate having cheap good players?
I wouldn’t say he is cheap.
But he is a good utility player that can fill multiple rolls for your team.

He suffers a bit from Tyler Bozak syndrome. People hate him because he plays too high in the lineup even tho it is his fault the team doesn’t have some better

I think he is cheap. What would a guy who plays all situations and scored 50 points, can play wing or center make in UFA? 4-5M easily. If he agreed to extend at his current caphit the Leafs would be fools to not take him up on it.

SDA has been great this PP

At showing us how good Marner is in that spot

He is a solid 2LW, I think he is a boring player which is why people hate him, but he is paid fine, producing well for his position in the lineup, and can play any position, he's great.

He scored 50 points playing on a line that had 2 PPG players and was caved in defensively most of the season.

He should play further down the lineup most nights but because of a lack of offensive depth we really didn’t have many better options. That said he is still a good player. He PKs, and can play in a defensive or offensive roll. But I think you can replace what he does cheaper in free agency if you are smart about it. Like we did with Bunting or Jarnkrok

Heh, the bastard lovechild of Bozak and Kerfoot would be borderline all-star. Bozak's size, faceoffs, and o-zone playmaking with Kerfoot's speed, transition play, and defense would be awesome
