GDT: Leafs vs NYI

I'm predicting a dominant first period where everyone on here starts gloating and telling people critical of the team to shut up.

Followed by a typical collapse and loss.

Yea, that's what it seems like these days yet the Leafs still have one of the best records in the league when leading after the second period with a record of 18-0-1. That 1 OT loss was recently against the Avs.

And believe it or not, when they are leading after the 1st period, their record is 14-2-1. So hopefully they go back to their winning ways sooner than later.

I have the same feeling. That trend started after the Covid break. Prior to that, we were money carrying a lead into the 3rd period.

Maybe not to boomers who grew up on it, but looking back now it’s awful to watch

Chess and control, not played to be lucky. Les Canadiens were not boring. When Armstrong chipped the puck out of our end, not boring. What is boring is Sittler McDonald, Salming, Turnbull, Gilmore, Clarke being wasted. Now AM, Marner, Nylander being wasted because of coaching.

He can say it all he wants from the highest peaks on earth …., if you or anyone here has ever played serious level of any team sport knows that what’s he’s spewing is just that , giraffe poop !
You can see it in his eyes when he’s playing , in his demeanour on the ice during any game , you can tell by the fake toughness he shows after whistles and strategically timed reactions , you can see it when he’s in the corners , and when he’s against certain players …and so much more
Players like this are easy to pick out
He shows it in the way he plays and with his stats
Can’t win with these players when it counts
And player’s like that can’t fool anyone that knows what’s going on within team dynamics and team sports and winning and loosing and whos real and who’s not .
Good thing is that his tenure with us will end real soon and we are so close with our lineup in having to play players like him .

99% of his games coached he demands less aggression, afraid of penalties and p killing.
Then suddenly he wants a change. Simmons is naturally aggressive, so is Clifford, maybe even Ritchie, but they have been stopped too many times, or not encouraged for sure. As for Holl, he appears to be a wimp, but maybe I is coaching since he had Keefe in Marlies. You do not have to fight every night to be aggressive. Face washes, scrums, etc can do the job.

I agree..I think Bunting is very aggressive in that sense. I'm just not sure if it's Keefe that is against aggression. Maybe I'm wrong though

Time for everyone to start pulling their weight regardless of whether or not the captain puts his boot up his ass. I don't know if I will ever forget the first time we played NYI after landing Tavares, that was right up there with our playoff losses in terms of how humiliating it was.
