I can live with some growing pains. Leafs aren't fighting the get into the playoffs, they have some room to go before they're in that spot.

Dermott, in his 5th. NHL season, kind of shows sometimes the player just doesn't get it after 200 games. At 25 he is a bottom pairing defender. Better than Holl at 25, but Holl is probably a bottom pairing defender on a team that has a strong d-corps. Leafs are good defensively when the forwards pick up someone to cover, but the Rangers' game showed what happens when the forwards aren't engaged defensively.

Liljegren - 35 games
Sandin - 68 games

Who you going to pair them with, if not each other?
Rielly - Liljegren

Sandin - Brodi

Until Muzzin gets back I'd run it like that, those young guys are talented but asking them to take tough minutes with virtually no experience is asking to much of them

If things go well, stick with it but if the young guys start to struggle feed some Dermott into the rotation

They will make mistakes but they are the best we have available so accept it for what it is, warts and all

Did you think the Leafs would be a top 5 team this year?
They are not top 5, inconsistent at best and at times not engaged. To me that is coaching. They have not dominated many games physically. This team is no longer boys who need to be men. The should be men, now!
So who can they beat in a series. Panthers, Lightning, Bruins, Washington, Penguins, Hurricanes, Rangers? We struggle against them all.
I think we missed our chance with Boudreau. Cup or bust. I want to smoke a cigar not feel good about next year.

Islanders are a tough team to play against, a strong defensive trapping team. We can't make too many mistakes or we'll regret it. GLG.

I still don’t know what was wrong with rubins he played well just because holl crapped the bed he got punished

Not a fan of Dahlstrom but if he can actually sit back and use his reach/positional play than he >>> Biega. Not sure why, but Biega thought he could play rover and was completely out of sync with Dermott against the Rangers.

Isles actually playing better lately. Leafs can't coast tonight. But no excuses not to win.

And let's go Mraz it's time.

This is an ACADEMIC philosophy for ya youngins ... but it is NOT day-to-day reality of playing minor, junior or pro hockey ... I can tell you playing MTHL hockey for 7 years, O hockey for 4 years and 7 years in I that defenders learn from their vet partners over extended game reps .. one day of coaching practice or game certainly can help, and learnings are not linear and sometimes there is even regression if partners are not a good match ... but to think ANY defender is making serious game changing learnings after 1 game is believin in WILLY WONKA
Maybe your slow learning curve was why you never made da show

Keefe is the soft one. He has discouraged aggressive activities, now for 1 game he wants it......haha
When has he ever shied away from challenging his players to compete hard? This is such nonsense. nothing like a mid season lull to bring out out all the knuckle dragging cretins

If the Leafs don't win will you delete your account?
Seriously, how long can a talented team be allowed to under perform. 2 yrs, 3 yrs, 4 yrs. What us your answer.
Would this team be better right NOW if Boudreau was behind the bench.
This team is lost and does not know how to win consistently. They have players not allowed to play their roles.
Keefe has had enough time.
Winning is the only goal, not liking, not loving the team,
Remember 1967....Raptors won with bold moves, TFC were Champs, Jay's won, Leafs????
Again, Keefe has had enough time.
Keefe has the best win% in leaf coaching history, take a lap

IDK remember when we were winning games 1-0 and 2-1 during our most successful run ever in November? I say this game is a good chance to get back into that mindset and grind out a win against a team who plays that style well. Lately feels like the team is trying to run and gun too much

Rick Tocchett thinks games in November are much easier than games in January as players start to up their games. We need to up our game but it might take a week or so due to covid and injuries. We'll see in February.

Cool, Rick coached the worst team in the league and is currently doing hit pieces for podcasts.

It's his playoff win percentage that counts in the end. Personally he is starting to grow on me but he still has to prove he can win in the playoffs.
Is he on the ice? Only the players are truly accountable at the end of the day. We all saw the prep he put into having them ready, once the puck drops it’s on them not him.

So Kallgren up with the Leafs and Keefe doing a PR thing before the game.

Which goalie just went down?

Not just Tocchett that’s pretty much common knowledge. All pro sports get tougher as the season goes along and peaks at the playoffs.

He bet his job on this core. Does that mean anything to you ?? He should never have said that IMO.
