Luckily, if Keefe wants to he can throw out ROR + McCabe/Brodie to matchup against them

I say you focus all your physicality on Kucherov and completely derail his concentration and ability to focus on offense. Stamkos is the weak link and a trigger man. Point will be dangerous and have to take away his runway and box out his drive to the net.

Game one might decide this series. I would rather see us win the first two and gain some confidence ->roll it down the hill.

I can see us shit the bed if we lose the first one.

ROR and rhe new additions have to remain vocal on the bench.and whenever he normally would be. Not that he needs to be told but if I were Keefe I would encourage him to be that "rah rah, let's go" guy with a 10 second chat.

All of the players respect him, Schenn, Acciari, McFabe et all, and they all want and need the vocal encouragement/leadership. Even Mattyngets involved.

I know whenever I played sports I was defiitely thst guy. Quiet away from the gym or field but definitely reminding the team to get it going. We and lose as a.team, no passengers. When others did it In listened.

Beat T.B and grab ths Cup.

Key will be speed and the powerplay. We aren't going to beat this team up. So we have to take the advantage of their declining speed on the blueline. Taking stupid penalties will cost us with their powerplay. Also our powerplay can't disappear like it did last season. Tampa will be undisciplined trying to goon it up. Overall I actually like our chances better this year. We didn't defend like this last year. We went from top 20 in goals against to within the top 10. With our defensive improvements and their defensive decline we should be able to get to Vasi and keep the puck out our net better.

Same. I decided to stop watching.
But I could only last half a season.

Still bummed about blowing that series after going up 3-1.

Now I watch and try not to be emotionally invested. I didn't get upset over losing to the bolts last year. After every loss I shut out the Leafs, hockey news, specially this toxic HFboard, until they win a game.

This helped a lot.
I've been a fan longer than either of you and while disgruntled at times, I've never given up or quit watching

Maroon-Bellemare-Perry feels exploitable, imagine their ice time is limited. Not really impressed with their bottom six. This is when we'll see if those depth deadline additions pay off.

While I badly want them to win, and to finally beat those turds from Boston, them doing so would save Kyle 'Spreadsheet' Dubas' and Keefe's jobs and I want both of them gone so I am conflicted.
This post says,, "I'm not a true fan of the Leafs"

If we are out shot, or played, or everything and still manage to win the cup, I could give a rats ass about anything else.

Please turn in your fan card

For whatever reason, this time, it feels like it’s our time.

Having said that…wouldn’t it be kind of odd to see Dubas working in Pittsburgh next season? Please don’t let that happen.

It has a Leafs/Islanders 2002 feel to it

A cup for X more years of this coaching staff/management is a price I am willing to pay.

Took him long enough! And some success this year will not erase his failings. Looking at his overall tenure, he has been a failure.

I've been a fan longer than most here have been alive. I survived the Ballard years and never lost hope, but the loss to Montreal broke me. It just broke me.

It wasn't just who they lost to, but how they lost. Since then I have hardly watched any regular season games, because I just can't. Last year I don't think I watched any, but did start watching in the playoffs only to see them bow out in the first round yet again. Same old, same old. Nothing new at all.

This year I have watched 2-3 complete games and parts of a handful more. Again, I am getting interested for the playoffs but based on their history over the last decade I am not expecting much and think that Dubas and Keefe have to be removed for the team to have any hope of progressing.

They have accomplished nothing under Dubas and Keefe, absolutely nothing (and no, the regular season doesn't mean a damned thing nor do the idiotic advanced stats that some people cling to as if they are gospel), and I do not see that changing and them becoming a perennial Cup threat. For them to take that step, Dubas and Keefe have to go and winning a round or two this year will stop that from happening and just prolong the underachieving.

See my comments immediately above.
So seriously then, why don't you find another team? If you've only watch 2 or 3 games this year, find a team that makes you happy

The 5 players we brought in (or 25% of our line up) are competitors. This team is not going to roll over.

And There are fans who care more about the continued employment of the GM than actually winning. That pendulum swings both ways.
I don't think you understand what the word fan means. It's someone who loves the sport and the team.
Liking or disliking the GM or coach can still make someone a fan if they think that's best for the team, but to say you hope the team fails so that you can see the changes in management you want to see, that's not a fan of the team, that's a fan of your own opinion

To be clear, I wasn’t defending the take that the Leafs should lose so there’s a management change. That’s bonkers.

Even the crustiest of Dubas haters should be able to admit, the moves he made this deadline are EXACTLY the types of moves they’ve been begging for.

Ah I thought you were, apologies but I don't think there are many fans that would rather have Dubas stay if they felt he's holding the team back.

Agreed on the deadline moves. ROR is massive, McCabe phenomenal and add the extra years at 2M, dynomite.
Schenn is sneaky because in the playoffs you need a human eraser. Acciari and Lafferty were 2 underrated acquisitions due to the affore mentioned big names, but they help change the team culture to a playoff team.
Biggest bonus is ROR and Schenn want to play and win here badly.

Yup. For some, it's all about the ego, not the team. But most want the team to win.
