Far out tips are often easily stoppable by simply cutting down angles. The puck is out at the point and Andersen is still in the blue. That’s just bad positioning. No one said Matthews shouldn’t get out of the way

I’m starting to really hate Thornton on that top line.

His decision making has been poor and he lacks the athleticism and speed to make up for it. I think he’d have to go through waivers to get on the taxi squad, but the Leafs should be able to sit him to rest him and load management.

None of these goals are really atrocious, but man, Andersen finds a way to have a garbage save percentage in games where we play well WAY too often.

You'd think it would have something to do with the big mistakes being made in front of him

At a certain point, you just need to make a certain number of saves.

Some are going to be difficult, some will be easy. You can't stop everything, but you can be good enough to stop the majority. Fred's struggled for a while

Firstly, that’s a lame excuse. Ya you need a save, but you also need to play defence. The first one on the pp, it’s a tip, and burgle let in in to so...The 2nd goal was 100% muzzin and Matthews being idiotic, the 3rd goal was us giving them a cross crease tap in,
Expectations are ridiculous here. He makes 5 m and we expect .930+ with 3-4 -10 beller saves a game, he isn’t hellebuyck, he never will be. He’s an average goalie, who we should expect .914-.917, with some good saves here and there. If that’s not what we need then he’s gone next year. No one complains about Matthews Own goaling, but ofc it’s Andersen’s fault, some people just can’t not blame him
