I mean Mcdavid is just incredibly deadly on the pp...which of course matters, but Matthews (and many others) are higher than McDavid at even strength. Matthews is typically among the best at even strength.

I guess that is fair

production aside, Matthews playing doesn’t match what he was last year let alone Mcdavid the year. He goes missing for large portions of games

I get he’s trying to play defence, but last year he was above average defence with 120 points. Even if he takes a step back, that should be around 100-110 points but he seems to regress back to his 2019-2020 season
