GDT: Leafs vs Flames

Some have a really poor understanding of the team dynamic.
Nope some will just make an excuse to justify unjustifiable actions once again just my opinion cause if you can look at marners comment knowing it’s stupid and still try to make it appear as it was the right action there’s a problem there for sure and it’s people like that that continue to enable the behaviour that marner displays

You saw what you wanted to see im afraid, everyone knows matthews isnt a hundred percent and isnt playing anywhere near his capabilities but one person went about it right and the other didnt I don’t believe you picced the right one my opinion though doesn’t mean your wrong
Ditto bud, enjoy the mob mentality.

If Marner said Matthews is off, they would have criticized him, guaranf***ingteed. This place is beyond predictable. I’m just missing the hate, that’s my bias. I mean, I just posted yesterday he stunk Saturday, so…

I’d be surprised if Marner had any interest of moving on from the leafs. He was a leaf fan growing up and appears to have a rather hefty ego. Imagine the appeal to someone like that of one day being considered (based on points) one of the “great” leafs of all time. It will be irresistible.

8 more years.

Marner couldn't care about any of that. He just wants to end his career knowing he took teams for more than he should have

Drummer called in sick today 😂 (hungover) jamming cancelled. Looks like I can make some drinks with some good ol' Irish Whiskey and watch tonights game, good or bad GDT or PGT will be entertaining!

Why? One person is coming to the defence of his teammate throwing fans and media under the bus while not being truthful the other is being honest taking the onus on himself what did you see that I didn’t ? Btw they both were aiding their teammate just two different approaches

Personal accountability usually goes a lot further than the deflection. Marner has been a far superior player to someone like Rielly, but Rielly usually takes personal accountability and promises to be better in a humble and relatable way. He doesn’t follow up, but historically he’s had a lot more good will for doing a lot less on the ice than Ol’ Mitchy.

just watching overdrive they were showing a clip when the Sens took the lead on the powerplay Ridley Greig gave Matthews a chicken wing when he skated by, and he did nothing lol

Auston Matthews projects too much weakness. Anyone and everyone feels empowered to be a tough guy around him with no consequences. I’ve said it since his rookie days and since he was targeted and injured by Jacob Trouba in one of those early years. You need to go nuclear on someone and establish yourself a la prison rules. Never happened and people just walk all over this guy.

“Doesn’t follow up” indeed, Mo is rapidly declining, has been for years……

Treliving a gm everyone said was bad is in fact bad. Shocked I say
He’s 50/50 in my opinion, has done equal amounts of both good and bad, that being said your GM has to win more deals than he loses, and that definitely hasn’t happened yet……..

Here’s the thing, we’re still right there, despite this skid. We’re going to turn it around, it’s hockey, and a little hit streak we’re back on top.

Tonight is a big game though!
we are still in a prime position to win the division

we got 2 games against florida and another game against tampa and we are only like 4 points back with like 2 games in hand

even in this current position we are in including the skid, this is still the easiest first place has been for us to grab. We don't have to play .800 hockey to win the divison, we just need to play a little bit better than our current record and win the head to head matchups

team doesn't inspire confidence as of now though. Need to turn this around asap or we will be sitting in a wild card spot

he is a run of the mill gm imo, nothing special about him

we didn't need average gm'ing right now (could've used that in 2018-19), we needed a good gm to navigate this situation to either retool/rebuild the team last year dealing a combo of matthews, marner or nylander, or a guy who was able to add ontop of what we have already to try and get more out of this roster.

domi + kampf should've been a 55-60 point 2LW
jarnkrok with assets should've been turned into some type of good 3C
we should have a better dman than OEL
robertson should be a better and more reliable 3RW who can score.

Florida has lost 3 of their last 4 games, and in two of those games they gave up 2 goal third period leads. Tampa has also lost 3 of their last 4 games. Should both of those teams consider rebuilding? Or is it possible that sometimes teams just go through slumps? Does anyone remember that the Leafs won 5 straight games after the Four Nations tournament? I don't remember reading a lot of "future is bleak" threads during that streak.
In fairness, a lot of people were pointing out that they were getting some lucky breaks and were not playing all that well during that 5 game stretch.

All 3 teams were on hot streaks, and now all 3 have cooled off.

I still have very little "beleaf" the Leafs will win the division. But I still cling to hope somehow they figure it out

Difference with Rielly it's ability/skill more than will. With Marner, it's the will he's missing, not the skill.

When did Mitch tell you this? Because you must know him personally to know this.

Just because someone wants to get paid what they feel they are worth, doesn't mean it's their only motivation.
