Pre-Game Talk: Leafs vs Flames

Just a minor change would be fine.

Matthews-Domi-Marner
Knies-Holmberg-Nylander
McMann-Tavares-Robertson
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok
Extra:Kampf

You want to take our best two centers both out of the top 6 center spots to insert a bottom 6 defensive liability and Holmberg who isn’t even a regular NHL quality player?
This opinion is not it, my guy

We’re doing a bunch of other stupid stuff why not you look at what the coach is doing now?

Could always re-arrange the order and put Tavares line as 1st. line.
Drop Matthews and marner down to play with that extraordinary center Domi.

McMann-Tavares-Robertson
Knies-Holmberg-Nylander
Matthews-Domi-Marner
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok

how about this then:

Domi-Matthews-Marner
Knies-Tavares-Nylander
McMann-Holmberg/Laughton/Jarnkrok/Kampf-Robertson
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok

If the team does not win the division (so no regular season improvement), does not win a round (so no playoff improvement) and your star players stats are way down (assuming he is not injured), do you consider a change there (again)? -OR - Does management's balls finally drop that they make a change to the core? That includes letting Mitch walk I guess... which is kinda ballless but whatever.

I think Berube is planning on dividing the ice time equally among the bottom six with this approach.

You think so?

I'm guessing Mitch wants no part of being a Leaf without playoff success. I hope the Leafs feel the same way.

I like
McMann-Mathews-Robertson
Knies-Tavares-Willy
Holmberg-Laughton-Marner
Lorentz-Domi-Jarnkrok

I wonder if that’s what’s up with Matthews? He was very good in 4N final, but hasn’t been as interested since. There’s talk about Brady wanting to go home, maybe Matthews wishes he was too.
I'll drive him to the airport if he needs a ride..........

1. It’s worthless to change the lines for one game only to go back to what wasn’t working before immediately after. Keefe did the same thing. If you’re not going to give new line configurations time to breath then why bother changing them at all?

2. Domi back at centre when Laughton was ostensibly brought in so that wouldn’t happen again is hilarious and makes that trade all the worse.

only the Leafs would identify a 3rd line center as a need and go get a guy who hardly played center this season, you can;t make this shit up if you tried...........

Flames fan in peace. We have Frost and you have Laughton. Why did Tre give a 1st for Laughton? Tre gives away assets like candy, and then says 'trust the process' alot. Glad that guy left honestly. Right now the flames are alot like the habs.. quite a few assets and sitting around the bubble. We don't have backlund tonight or zary so our roster has a few holes. Hoping that Frost outperforms Laughton but you guys have a ton of weapons so am not expecting much out of the flames tonight

As sad as it all is... I actually think this is our best configuration..for better or for worse.

I agree with both your points.
