You can point the finger at whoever you want but hockey is a game of mistakes. Rielly as a dman will quite often see 2 on 1s. Its part of the game. However, he needs to learn how to play them properly.

Rielly did not take away the pass. He committed to the guywith the puck at which point he slid a pass across.

Hmm, maybe I didn't see the play well. If you say so, then Bernier should have anticipated a pass.

However, this was all on Franson and Bodie. They should not have that 3 on 1 chance in the first place

Leafs are forcing too many long passes when they aren't able to make even short ones. The recipients themselves aren't even moving when the get the pass...just standing still. Makes it really easy for giveaways to take place.

terribly slow period all around. Bad collision/pinch by Franson leads to the goal. Rielly could've played the situation better but that goal is on Franson/Bernier.

When I see the Leafs skating hard, they look like they're trying to run uphill. There's no speed being generated in the neutral zone right now. I wonder how much of it is the Leafs and how much of it is teams figuring how to force our defensemen and how to keep the Leafs along the perimeter unable to generate any forward momentum for the rush?

2 shots on net tonight .. 3 shots against Minny the other night, & 4 shots verses Chicago in the first periods.

Too many passes, not enough shots for rebounds. Heck with the overpassing, we missed most of the passes. That's my take in that period.

Cut the passes and shoooooot for **** sakes.

Other than that, I thought we played OK. One bad break and they scored on it. We have to play better than this though. Just OK after being really bad the last 2 is not good for us.

Why can't the Leafs land any SOG? It would be great if the team just keeps the game simple and take shots at the net. It never hurts to have SOG in hockey...

I am pretty certain that Kadri had a deflection on Hiller early in the period that wasn't counted as a shot. There were also a couple of scrums in close, one with McClement in particular, where I am very surprised the puck didn't make it through, it was only within a couple feet of the net and there were several attempts in a short period, seems unreasonable that all were blocked by the defence. So probably more like 4 shots that period, still pretty poor.

Dion and Franson can't complete a pass across on the pp without botching it up.
Kadri can't get a 3-ft pass to Lupul.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Looks like they are utterly struggling to even skate the puck through the neutral zone. Other team can just move with ease, but just going on the attack is tough for this group right now. No idea what they are supposed to do here.

Perhaps this is just a bad hockey team. I don't want to admit it more than anyone else does, but the results speak for themselves. Haven't played one solid game so far and this is our 10 outing.

We've looked really bad for a few games now.

This team is not playing well at all.

Before the season started I opened a thread called something like: Our true identity is back now".

That hard identity has not been showing in hockey this season. It all comes to Frazer McLaren not being there and David Clarkson being out as well. These are so important characters to have in the lineup. Bolland has been pretty good for us this season. Colton Orr has not been like last season... I don't know of course if its because of Frazer McLaren sporting him out etc. But it has to be something....

I do love Frazer and Clarkson. So these guys will definitely pump our **** to the fan soon. Don't worry, Carlyle is such a hard ass man that his team WINS GAMES even with this D-game. Like we all have proven and seen this season. Like we already know.
