these kinda starts is what scares me. they come in take it easy and before you know it you are down a few goals. In the playoffs against good teams it won't be easy to tie the games or get goals back.

Gotta f***ing start on time
I mean it is more then sub .900% goaltending that we have been getting this month that is worrying. We could be playing the best defensive hockey ever and we aren't winning a round if our goalies don't make a save or two for us.

We are going to win tonight. Then we will forget how bad this game was because we got 2 points

I think we have a great chance at winning tonight too. But if you’re watching the season like a coach and looking for great habits and building more and more momentum, ehhh.

Just seems like they don’t really respect teams like Detroit and New Jersey and realize they can win a 60 minute game with a 20 minute effort.

He does not need more time with the Marlies. He needs a chance to make mistakes at the NHL level, and lets not pretend like this has been a persistent issue either. He has been great a lot more than he has been bad, and he makes fewer glaring defensive mistakes than Sandin.

no sorry
He has been bad for while a while now

i honestly think Jack will never get it back- i know its early yada yada yada, but i truly feel that way, he looks too discouraged, too emotionally weak.... and hes 30.

The Rielly contract was a steal from day one. He easily gets a few million more a year if he's a UFA.

He got an extra year though.

He is not getting 9 mill from any team that is anywhere close to as good as us. He received 60 mill over 8 years and gets to stay in a place where he is loved and is trusted like a true #1.

If he went to UFA, he may have got 60 mill over 7 years, but once again it was likely from a worse team. He was willing to sacrifice whatever money he would have made as a 35 year old UFA to stay here and compete for Cups.

People forget the power of that extra year.

Liljegren has been making far more and worse mistakes than Sandin in January.

I disagree with all due respect
The difference is unlike other teams Detroit and NJs are bad enough that we can come back

They haven't instilled any good habits. The lack of effort and lack of hitting still there
Those are habits we want to instill. We dont' finish our checks, that's still part of the game

Our D doesn't take the man to kill the cycle

It's both, our goaltending should be better, but he shouldn't even be in a position to be pulled vs. This team

Getting out-competed, Soup was bad before getting pulled.
We gon totally gangsta it up in the dirty second sire

Also uh, why are they lifting and icing these numbers and players right now.....? Since the legends don't even get to go the arena....... why not wait and celebrate them when the time is right?

I think the real important factor here is covid and the cap likely not moving up anytime soon. I think that has more power than an extra year on his deal remaining.
