Everyone was doing it and watching Marner bail on hits. They really needed a core change just to get rid of some of the power and comfort those guys have together
Yeah I agree and they always seems to play better when they lose a core guy to injury. Every year it seems like one of them goes down for a bit and everyone worries that we are f***ed and suddenly they figure shit out.

Had to now rewind the game and watch that PP.

Mitch literally has a open net when Matthews makes the pass over to him on the 5v3 but of course we need to make the most highlight reel passing play.

Mitch 100% needs to shoot more in these exact spots. He had the goalie sliding across with an open cage, need to shoot it buddy.

This team looks like straight garbage. The forwards look porous defensively, the only defenseman who can move the puck is OEL and the power play is woeful. Benoit and Myers look DREADFUL.

Terrible 1st

Boston looked like an elite skating and passing team with a core to envy league wide

While we looked like an old and declining team that couldnt slate the ouck up or make decisions and read eith it when we needed to create space and pressure

Need to wake the f*** up. Its been 7 periods now of ass

This team looks terrible. What a shift from the vibes a week ago.

This team always falls into the same pattern whenever they win with 5 or 6 goals, they suddenly believe every game should be a 5 or 6 goal night. That win against TB ends up contributing to over confidence and too many optimistic attempts.

Instead of focusing on tight defense and winning 3-1 they become loose and soft again.

Yet Boston had 4 high danger shots while dominating possession. That is straight booty cheeks. Boston is not a good team. Hence why Montogmery’s job is on the line tonight.

But agree Toronto gotta wake up

The problem is that they focused far too much on trying to win 3-1 that they lose instead because they don't generate enough. They can't even make a play in the offensive zone. They can't even make a break out play with ease. It's all broken plays with pucks dumped in almost every other play.

Here's a recap of Matthews' last ~545 o-zone entries, both ES and on the PP:

- Get over the blue line, backhand pass to whomever is on left wall.

Maybe, just to try something new and to keep opponents guessing try something else? Carry it? Dump it? Hold up and wait for an open teammate? Pass to the right side? A big part of the problem, esp, on the PP, is just how utterly predictable they are.
