Hard to imagine Carlyle keeping his job at this pace. There's no excuse for that type of domination and it isn't effort or talent level. A good portion of those shots are due to the Leafs collapsing and giving up point shots, which is coming from the bench.

I agree that Carlyle is not a good coach for this team, but the effort definitely isn't there. I continuously see dmen not fighting to keep the puck, barely skating back to get the puck which might be slow recognition of who should get it or just stupidity, the forwards cherry picking, not skating hard to get back. They could be out of the playoffs with one more loss and they look like they already are. No leadership whatsoever on this team and while i'd love to pick on Phaneuf for this, it starts with Nonis and Carlyle for continually thinking Phaneuf could be or is that guy.

Phaneuf should have NEVER been resigned. Nonis is a Burke guy. These stupid contracts are continuing despite all the prior mistakes. Bad judgement from the management. It's an absolute joke - over 20 shots in the period when they are desperate to make the playoffs and a goalie coming back from a groin problem has to contend with this. The Blues look like they have a PP all the time.

But, Leaf fans are good at making excuses and blaming the goalie.
