The quality of goalies is just not there in the NHL right now. No one to trade for thats worth it, unless its Igor or Demko and neither of those are happening

Rolling with Woll is the way to go imo
A goalie with 26 career starts and only 15 starts this year?
That’s a bold strategy for a team that wants to contend for a Cup.
I mean I guess it could work as it did with the Habs and Ken Dryden. But it seems like a long shot.

Please give me your sources.

I saw you edited your original post but this statement allies to you as well. Where's the sources Primeau is anything more than your average goalie prospect who may or may not ever amount to anything? All we have are his stats today. And right now, he'd very likely clear waivers—with maybe an outside chance a bottom ten team lacking goalie depth picks him up as a backup option.

He has minimal value, especially not for a contending team like Toronto. And I'm saying that as Habs fan. Can the kid be good? Sure he ain't anywhere near there yet.

Something to keep in mind. Cory Schneider got the 9th overall, the highest return a goalie has ever been traded for, after rocking .927 or higher for three straight seasons and even supplanting Luongo with an insane .937 and 1.96 season.

That's the kind of statline you need to command a "premium" as a goaltender.

The Sharks have a pair of goalies who would likely be available for the right return. Blackwood and Kahkonen are both perfoming decently behind the worst team in the league. I could see Kahkonen going for a 3rd and Blackwood going for a 2nd but I could be way off on the valuations.

And Gibson, I've also been a Gibson guy, I think if you get him off the Ducks he goes back to being John Gibson he just NEEDS to get off the Ducks.

Somebody needs to be brought in.
Ah ! Gibson.

One of the two guys (the other one was Rakell) that the Ducks drafted with the picks Burke sent to them to have the privilege to draft Tyler Biggs...

For me he's a rebound machine, every goalie gives up rebounds but not like Woll does, Woll gives up A LOT.

Woll's also rather injury prone.

rebounds arent an issue with him.. like someone said hes near other elite goalies in terms of rebounds. The issue is the D not being able to grab the rebounds and take them out of danger.

Goalies can be fickle.

Pens won with Murray when he had 13 games of experience.

But I agree, the Leafs should shore up their goaltending before the playoffs.

Limited supply and excessive demand will push up goalie values.

Allen is available, Monty isn't so it will cost too much to get him.

Samsonov coming coming back means straight to AHL and chances are he'll be a no show.

There could be a bigger trade with Savard and Monahan in the mix. On the other hand we're not too far from a playoff spot so there could be a rethink on Savard/Monahan.

It is what it is and Habs must excercise their inalienable human right to fleece teams in need.

Who do you go with instead? We are not in a great goalie era right now in the nhl. The talent is poor across the league with very very few exceptions

Montreal got a lot of mileage out of rookie goalies in playoffs. Before the league could find their weak points.

Yup, that turned out poorly. I wonder who the Leafs would have drafted if they had kept the picks.
