Post-Game Talk: Leafs sweep California

Leafs keep on rolling, 4-0 on the road trip and sweep California, normally the last game is the hardest one to win due to it being a "let down" game. Toronto was sloppy but manage to still put up 5 goals.

A very good November for us.

Very impressive team at this point and doing it with their big 4 scoring at less than 1 PPG and their 2 big, $ wise, UFA signings yet to deliver much. Reminds me of how dominant they were when the swept the Oilers last year. Playing very good defensively which is how you win in the playoffs.

Back up to 6th overall. Good to be climbing the standings, if would suck though if we won the division and got TB in the 1st round as our reward.

Best not to get too carried away about winning games in November but still, winning is obviously much better than losing, they're playing very well and almost making winning look easy. Schedule looks a bit tougher these next few weeks, looking forward to see how they do against tougher competition, hopefully they keep playing well.

Campbell is still not extended which really sucks and obviously winning in November won't mean dick if they lose in the playoffs again but other than that, it's all good. Not a single weak spot on the team to criticize, if they can stay healthy and keep playing like this in the playoffs then maybe this will be the year we finally make some noise in the playoffs. I sure hope that in the spring they're healthy and on a roll like this when it really matters. The division is as tough as it gets so they better be, beating some of these teams in the playoffs is exponentially more difficult than beating up mediocre teams in November, let's hope this spring is where the narratives all change for this team.

GLG!! And Dubas, get Campbell signed FFS!

This guy gets it. Being a Leafs fan is an all-consuming phenomenon that runs deep in our soul. Winning or losing can affect our mood in our everyday lives. I cried as a kid whenever Ullman Keon Armstrong lost a game but revelled in my mind replaying a games goals as I laid down to sleep. I became incorrigible during losing streaks and cheerful during winning streaks.

We finally have a team we can be really proud of. Let’s support them even during losing streaks cause this team really cares about winning and losing. The measure of a true fan is supporting the team when things look bleakest. Oh we’ll get angry and look for reasons why things aren’t going well but in the end, they are our team.

So true. The older I get the less affected I am but still, when I wake up every morning one of my first thoughts is always the Leafs. If they won I'm happy, if they lost I'm not happy and if they didn't play, well then I'm still affected by the last time they did play.

Boy summers sure have sucked the last few years. :laugh::laugh:

I just watched the Avs ragdoll the Preds, they are playing excellent hockey, they're disciplined, they hit, they fight, they play defense, and they score goals. Sure McKinnon is out, but you'd hardly notice.

This Avs team is in a whole different stratosphere than the teams the Leafs have played in the last 2 weeks.

Sure the Leafs controlled most of last night's game, but they had a substantial number of breakdowns against a team that was unable to capitalize, the Avs will take their lunch money everytime they get sloppy or lazy.

It will be tougher but I have faith that they’ll remain more focussed throughout the game against a stronger opponent.

Love Anne I really do, remember when she tried to buy the Leafs?

She's a huge Leafs fan, from a Leafs family and I appreciate that she's no different than most of us other members of LeafsNation. I actually love the fact that she stayed here and didn't turn her back on our country once she achieved stardom. I'm pretty sure there's a CBC doc on her kicking around on Gem or YouTube.

You've made a lot of posts like this lately - every time somebody isn't as giddy as you over the Leafs you tell them to log off, disappear or whatever else. Why be such a snowflake dude? They're playing great but it's November, we've seen them play great in the regular season and then lose in the 1st round so many times, it shouldn't be so hard to understand that some people want to see some playoff success before jumping on the bandwagon.

It's November. No team has ever won a cup in November. No team has ever won a playoff round in November. If people that aren't quite ready to plan the parade yet bother you so much, perhaps you should start another forum where you can ban people that don't agree with you because like or not, in this place people are allowed to think rationally.

Well, Kadri seems like a pretty good reason as well. You never know of course, sometimes games that should be great games don't really turn out that way but having said that, this should be a great game and hopefully it is a great game. Enjoy!
