Post-Game Talk: Leafs smoke Flames 6-2

Based on the overreaction of “fans” demanding a complete tear down and bemoaning how “bleak” the Leafs future is, it seems impossible for the Leafs to be just two points out of first place in the division with a game in hand.
I mean can you blame anyone, how many years of failure? and is this your first time here?

People aren’t stupid. 8 years with the same core and not winning more than a single round. Their play of late deserved all the criticism and angst. They were playing terrible.

We can enjoy this win but let’s see if it continues

Five years of a fantasy league gimp pretending he was a GM and a hopelessly incompetent coach who bragged about getting “respect in the handshake line”.

Now that those two hacks are finally gone, this team is ready for playoff success.

I'll have to see it to believe it. Core 5 is still running the show.

The division is still right there for them.

Florida doesn't play again until the 20th so If Toronto beats Colorado Wednesday they will be tied for the division lead.

Florida and Toronto play on the 20th and the 22nd.

Then after the 23rd Florida doesn't play again until the 28.

The Leafs upcoming schedule is Colorado, NYR, Nashville Philadelphia LA, SJ Ducks.

If they get hot they'll take over the division juse because of the gaps in Florida schedule.

This is a BIG opportunity for them thid next 7 games I forgot Philadelphia but the point still stands.

This isn’t an NHL ‘25 video game where a team can go 82-0, my friend.

There’s going to be ebbs and flows throughout the regular season. Being 2pts out of first place at this point in the season probably isn’t grounds for a complete tear down and rebuild.

Still never saw a picture of the offside but what a key moment that was calling that back. Must have been other angles in Toronto hq ?

Dunno if it's Berube's judgement or the people upstairs but the Leafs have been exceptional on challenges this season. And you're right, that offside challenge changed the entire course of the game.

It seems you can’t understand why this fanbase reacts the way they do. Since you ignored my last comment how many rounds have they won in 8 years with the same core players?

I think he's alluding to the fact that we get bounced in the first round every year.

They have some shit teams coming up on the schedule (NSH, PHI, SJ, ANA). Hopefully they'll bring the kind of effort they brought tonight to those games. NYR is at about CGY's level.

Let's see if they're serious or if they just got pissed off with all the (deserved) criticism and brought their A-Game for one game.

All the angles they showed it was either inconclusive or even on side. They must've had another view that TV didn’t.
