I just saw it as the Sens were playing better and tighter defensively. That doesn't mean the Leafs were playing worse but I think there should be lessons learned there for the Leafs. Damn I hate it when teams sit back on a lead and the Sens proved why.

It’s crazy because Batherson could have (and should have) absolutely lit up Domi. Cozens pokes at it and it guides Domi right into a huge, clean hit that eliminates the scoring chance… with the Leafs dman pinching up.

Instead he does the softest fly by and the puck ends up in our net 2 seconds later, and we lose a winnable game.

Young guys making immature plays. They are likely trying to poke the puck free and turn it over going the other way with speed. Not how to win in playoff hockey. Once the Sens players develop a mature game, that young core will be really good.

I tend to rely on the "goals scored during the game" stat. I find it is quite a good predictor of the end result.

I think the series could easily go 6 games. Leafs got 6 pp first game and have been capitalizing on them. Dmen have been scoring for us, which is not normal. Take that away and it's a much closer series. If Wes McCauley is reffing one of these games, then it's a guaranteed loss.

I don't think there is any chance that Ottawa wins two games in this series. It will be life and death for them to win one game.

this is probably the “learning year” season for the Sens. Makes me think of that first playoff series for the Leafs vs Washington in 2017 with Matthews and Marner as rookies.

If I recall, three of those games went to OT and the Leafs lost all three. The Leafs could have won that series against a lineup that won the Cup a couple of years later. The future looked great and then...well we all know the "then" for the next several years. Not sure they learned much that series TBH.

That’s not representative of the boards though. People that care enough to come and vote, many of them are biased (I.E. Sens fans and there are many fans who want to see the Leafs lose again just for the laughs).

Realistically if you ask people to put their hard earned money on who wins this series from day 1 I guarantee you the numbers heavily favour the Leafs.
