Sure, but they are likely not going to showboat. Just getting the win will be funny enough.Leafs can do the funniest thing next game
You are far too optimistic. I boldly predict that Ottawa's offense will do absolutely nothing and they will be shut out. To make it extra painful, the Leafs will win 1-0 in overtime.I have ullmark going beast mode for game 4 and pushing this back to Toronto.
This is true....it would be even worse in that case to be sure.If that's the case, could you imagine what Florida would do to Ottawa?
ExactlySure, but they are likely not going to showboat. Just getting the win will be funny enough.
Over here in reality, Stolarz is on an 11 game win streak with dominant statistics, a confident mentality and is the main reason the Leafs are the only 3-0 team in the playoffs right now. It's easy to say that now.
Let's say he lets in his first shot in the 3rd period (which is pretty much what he did) and then his 1st shot in OT, in both Game 2 and Game 3.
I think it's pretty obvious that some people would be miffed.
Just kept helping them. Ottawa got to play with prison rules while the Leafs got soft calls and they still lost. Don’t know how much more help they could have got.
They have to challenge him, so far their goals have been fluky bounces and catching him bored because they couldn't generate anything for 15m+. Even then most chances are one and done from the perimeter.Ottawa still hasn’t seen Stolly at his best. Hope he brings his best game tomorrow.
That's hard to argue, the history that is.If it's any consolidation for OTT the Leafs always find new and creative way to lose and choke away games and playoff series. So it would be very Leafy of us to lose in 7 games.
The real tests come now. Theyve already shown in the past they struggle greatly to get that 4th win in a series. We need to see them end it here or in game 5, dont drag this out. And then next round if they move on theyre likely playing the favourites in the East, and it cant look anywhere near how it did the first time they got to round 2.That's hard to argue, the history that is.
I think this is why we see so much content around "how different is this Leaf team?".
Obviously, we will wait and see if the results are different but it is hard to argue that this team is very different, even from the one that lost in seven to the B's last year...
New coach
New captain
New starting goalie
New power play coach
Tanev, Carlo, and Ekman-Larson
Laughton and Lorentz
Knies finding beast mode
...the biggest one and still unproven is the growth and maturation of Matthews, Marner and Nylander. I like to point out that Yzerman didn't win until be grew up and was surrounded by contributors, he has won NOTHING but the time he was the age of this core. NOTHING.
Weren’t we told (with some in depth statistical analysis) after game 1 by some Sens fans that this would happen and when it did that the Leafs would be in trouble. What voodoo has occurred for the Leafs to be 3-0 up?Power play opportunities are now tied up after 3 gamesWho coulda saw that coming
