Stick down first in the defensive end is a disadvantage as well.
Doesn’t the visiting team have to put their stick in first regardless of zone?

I always thought it was the defensive zone but you could very well be right.Doesn’t the visiting team have to put their stick in first regardless of zone?

I'll watch for it tonight.
There's something you don't see every day!It looks like you are correct.
For faceoffs at center ice, the visiting center must place their stick first. For all other faceoffs, the team closer to their own net must place stick first.
He could be buried this year, but if he hits 10 games, he hurts our cap next year.Isn’t this a no risk situation? He can be buried on waivers and removed off the cap. Give it 10 games to judge and see what he can contribute
because leafs used up their cap and are desperate to fill their ranksIf the Habs don't feel compelled into signing their former captain then why should the leafs?
Which should be around league game 20- 24 so lots of timeHe could be buried this year, but if he hits 10 games, he hurts our cap next year.
OEL has been ruthless, I guess he's super pissed about winning the cup.Berube has turned him and OEL into tough guys
Berube has turned him and OEL into tough guys
I wonder how he could have missed him playing for Montreal.OEL has been like this, Berube didn’t have to do anything. Pacioretty has always been a solid checker, played that way in Vegas before the injuries
We can’t sign those tough young skilled players because Dubas squandered the teams future on the core 4.Pacioretty turned out to be a great signing eh Brad.
Way to promise him a contract before even seeing him practice with the team. Another vet with amazing leadership skills. Useless as all hell when it comes to actually playing hockey though.
As hard as it is to believe this signing makes even less sense now that when it was first reported.
And it didn't make any sense at all when it was announced. The team said they were signing Pacioretty. But all I heard was they were wasting a million dollars and a roster spot.
Like I'm sure Pacioretty is a nice guy.
Too bad character doesn't win hockey games. The Leafs need to stop signing all these old men who have nothing to offer but veteran leadership. Look for younger guys with a mean streak who have at least replacement level skill.
I don't care if he's the biggest prick in the world so long as he can put the puck in the net.
Young guys with a mean streak that can put the puck in the net are the goal of every NHL team but we are likely to get outbid for these rare desirables when we have a Dollar Store budget. If you want players like that at a low price you have to draft them. They are likely more to be uncovered by the teams that have acquired our high draft picks. Hence, "Plan B" as laid out by our greedy core and inept spendthrift management....Look for younger guys with a mean streak who have at least replacement level skill.
