I have a sneaky feeling Nylander is the one going. He didn't play well with Tavares last season and if he doesn't fit well there, I don't know where he can play.
I think it's Tavares game that's slipped and not Nylanders..is moving Johnny to the wing insane? I mean have Tavares still take draws but pass off actual defensive responsibilities to Nylander/Necas ( or someone that has experience at C ) . Could save his legs /make him more effective longterm ...idk. Just a thought

I don't think they waive Simmonds. Clifford on the other hand....

Doesn’t Simmonds have an NMC? He is most likely the 13th forward. Unless they buy him out. He can’t be sent to the minors without his permission.

EDIT! It’s a modified no trade

If you want to see how dumb this forum is around anything Leafs, take a look at the hype for when he reached Calgary:

Sorry, the small sample size of 17 games in Calgary now made him a terrible player? Maybe it was an anomaly and exclusive to his poor usage in Calgary? Nah, that's can't be it.
I bet they picked him for depth and stuck him on the 4th line with no one to play with like the Leafs did to Blackwell.

I would expect the Leafs are having contract talks with Kerfoot. If it looks like they won't be able to extend him, then they might trade him and make room to sign Engvall and Sandin, and bring Rortson onto the roster.

If they can sign Kerfoot to an extension they can afford, then Holl looks like he's next on the list.

Come on man, he is not soft at all. He has tons of snarl.

The money is great. The term is concerning.

I listed him as an option yesterday but I overestimated his offensive ability.

Perhaps the idea is we get a RH center who can play at both ends of the ice, can PK, maybe bring some PP value at least as a guy who takes draws, and then can also fit on a line which will get chances offensively, but will also still be reliable in their own end. Not big or physical, but there are some options. I imagine Kerfoot is moved now, since Jarnkrok is effectively a RH version of him who is a little over 2 years older.

The options were getting thin at center, and short of getting Stastny or Rask, you are getting a similar two-way profile in Steel or Tierney. Jarnkrok is more expensive, but better too.

I don't want to get ahead of myself with him because his Calgary stint was underwhelming but in the bigger sample over the last 3 years he has played on some really low octane forward groups. He might be a more productive top 6 option than than we think.

Huh. Who the heck is this. The team is getting worse everyday. WTF

Watching his highlights he seems really skilled and has a nose for the net. I wouldn’t be surprised if he pushes his point totals higher with the skill we have around him.

Sandin UFA & Engvall UFA

Is Kerfoot the odd man out ?
With this Jarnkrok signing something has to give
