You need these older vets to mentor your young players sometimes, but in the bigger picture it does return some value for the 2nd round pick given up to get Gio and the TD.

He said he wants to win, and obviously winning here would mean more than winning anywhere else. And despite all the bleating about how awful this team is, the truth is that we'll be one of the cup favorites next season.

I'm not shocked at all, I was expecting this. Though I wasn't expecting for him to come this cheap.

There was a time nobody wanted to come home and play for us, now with shanahan and Dubas this is a spot where they come to try and win. Yes the Tavares contract is overpaid by a bit, this is where Dubas makes up for it though. Looking forward to trying again next year.

I love how Dubas gets all the credit for these guys wanting to play in their hometown their last couple year before retirement, where they were born and where their families live.

Credit to Dubas for bringing him in to begin with, he was great for the team and was an incredibly steadying influence on Liljegren and even made Holl look okay, but getting him to sign a team friendly contract? All that credit goes to Gio.

Well these players still believe in Shanny, Dubas and the plan. They wouldn't sign here if they wouldn't, so they get credit for these. Like it or not.

My comment was in reply to the poster that that was making fun of the narrative that Dubas always over pays. My response was directed at the cost Giordano just signed for. It has nothing to do with any great negotiating skill from Dubas.
im fine with the job Dubas did in trading for him last year.

I wouldnt trade any of them. 7 very good dmen is just what we need to get through a season. Especially when one is 39 and 2 are still babies.
