To be honest, when it’s all said and done, Marner’s contract will be a steal. What do you think Gaudreau will get on the open market? Probably a bigger deal than Marner’s and I rather have Marner

Giordano is still a good defenseman and could easily command $3m on the market.
Him taking a gigantic discount to stay speaks volumes in my opinion.

I think this means Spezza is also coming back at league min for a swan song season.

I think this may be the most meaningful signing of Dubas' career.
Not just for the player and the value, but the meaning behind convincing the player to sign this kind of a deal.
