That's blows my mind because he was one of the most prototypical, vanilla depth forwards I've ever seen when he played for the Leafs.

a lot of the Leafs depth players go on to thrive when they get bigger roles elsewhere. The Leafs just have too many good players, and not all of them can get an opportunity

I really hope Matthews wrist is healed and isn't lingering, especially at this point in his career.

He seems to pass on shots he rarely would in the past. When he is sniping with authority, it's obvious and lethal.
