I think the only person Engvall may be better than in my lineup is Spezza, but maybe not even that, plus Spezza brings more than just his game.

I am fine carrying less, if we lose someone like Brooks it just means a prospect like Robertson is closer to getting some development time if there are some injuries.

Truly the only thing I don't understand is the Simmond signing unless there was some discussion that Simmonds wanted to play at least one season with fans in Toronto but there was a good chance he was getting waived and would only play when needed.

It will be a shame when the leafs have a far superior player claimed off waivers because Simmonds is a lock for some reason.

Ya im not sure what management saw last year that made them think, lets give this guy a 2 year deal and a NTC for fun.

All 3 of those players are more impactful and younger. I don't get it but whatever. It was clear when he signed that deal he is a lock for the 4th line

LOL yeah I had to stop trying to put lineups together. Nice thing is we seem to have lots of wingers that can move up the lineup if needed. Glad I don't have to decide who gets waived

Or the start of the bad luck in the first round - that management group still buys out Grabo, signs Clarkson, overpays for Bolland, etc

Marner is all about creativity; bumper position you hardly touch the puck. you need shooters there who can one time. Willy and Matthews are superior shooters so they should be on the walls for one timers.

Marner should be on the 2nd unit driving the play IMO
 
Anyone else find that sportsnet panel so cringy. Ken seems like he thinks he is really cool and the chick wants to bang him and she's trying her best to be professional.. And he just says cringy shit after cringy thing looking like he is talking to a girl for the first time
 
Simmonds 53 games away from 1000. Might be the reason he was signed to a 2 year deal. Probably reaches that milestone then retires.
 
Anthony Stuart is right. There are a lot of players dont' seem to be in any urgent mode
Doesn't seem like they are actually fighting for a role
