Leafs first game ever against Sabres was Nov 18/1970. An embarrassing 7-2 home loss. Gary Monahan and Mike Walton scored the Leaf goals.

Sabres have a lot of key injuries and have been relying on effort and occasionally great goaltending to stay at .500 hockey. With their veteran players not really all that productive the younger guys have had to come up big but they lack the experience to be consistent. If Leafs do not win this fairly easily then they have reason to doubt their playoff future success...
It really is quite remarkable that over 50 years, no matter who dresses for each team that the Leafs are so brutal in Buffalo!

Trap game . I expect this to be tough . Gonna need to pot a few if Woll isn't significantly better at the NHL level than the AHL.

Interested and excited to see Woll today. Wasn't good in the AHL but goalies are goalies. We'll see how he does. Hopefully team plays well in front of him. Wouldn't mind getting Spezza the night off since we do have extras right now. Maybe even get Dermott in but not sure for who.
The Leafs need to stomp Buffalo, this can't bea 3-2, or 2-1 win that's not good enough, not night.

Buffalo is always such a dreary opponent on the calendar especially when it's in Buffalo. I'm really surprised they did a Leafs Sabres outdoor extravaganza this year.

LOL I'd die if Keefe shouted "Miss the net again and your ass will be in Arizona for your next game" from the bench.
Woll will step up .. he always does in big games .. and this is a big game for him .. 1st impressions are critical for him .. what you will see is he strength is his 1 on 1 play on shots or dekes .. where he needs to improve is in odd man situations and how he times them and positions himself .. but it was a great draft choice because kid has all da big game abilities
