I say maybe.

Obviously immense ability but the guy is just such a giant pissbaby, slapping his stick all around like a spoiled mite, not getting along with seemingly anyone

yeah yeah I know rawr he wants to win just soooo badly but if you run into assholes everywhere you go, youre the asshole.

To me there's a difference between guys who so badly want to win and drive hard for it an motivate those around them...then there are those who are absolutely toxic when things aren't always sunshine and rainbows. Miller is the latter.

At least Miller would have value you could trade, nobody is taking Pettersson for free on that god awful contract. Charmin' soft for 11M? That's a surefire way to never contend for a cup.

I voted no, but the contract term and AAV also have a lot to with it.

He's currently 31 and signed at 8m for 6 more years with a 15-team no trade for the last few years. Unless you're squarely in your cup window, have or can make cap space, and also need secondary scoring, I feel like this should be a no for most teams, even considering the cap is most likely going up.

And then you have the character issues which could crater your dressing room. Hard pass on my end

The amount of people voting that they don’t like his character when all they know about his character is what they’ve seen from the outside mainly based on the Petterson situation which nobody here knows the details of. And yeah of course he’s always had bad body language along with being grumpy towards the media. But so has Nikita Kucherov or at least when he’s sober along with many other players that are very hard on themselves.

The fact is that he’s still a 1st line C in the nhl and even if he’s not the most likeable guy a group of grown men should be able to work together professionally even if they don’t all get along well. I’m sure there’s a few other top players who aren’t the most likeable guys in the room and there’s definitely plenty of players who don’t get along that we never hear about. If the Petterson Miller situation had stayed in the locker room then Miller would very likely still be on Vancouver and they’d probably get along well enough to still be able to be successful on the same team.

Also people here have very short memories. Miller is 1 year away from being by far the Canucks best forward on a team that took the Stanley cup finalists to 1 goal away in game 7. You’ve been bamboozled by the Vancouver media if you don’t think your team would take him. The reason the only team that was able to trade for him was the rangers was because that was the only team he was willing to waive for.

As a jets fan I was hoping they’d find a way to get him and I would’ve happily parted with perfetti and a first.
