It's crazy looking back to 2016 to the present.

It's no wonder toronto had no success. Their best d in that whole time:

Rielly, Hainsey, Schenn, and Giordano.

So many bad players:

Marincin, Hunwick, Corrado, Zaitsev, Holl, Dermott, etc.

Until that gets majorly overhauled they aren't going anywhere. Not even moving Marner and letting Tavares walk will do much.

I think most fans would accept a retool and are sick of overpaying while other teams get hometown sweetheart deals. This team is 4 players short of even winning 2 rounds. Bert wasn't worth $5.5 million. The Leafs need to get younger and cheaper or this won't end well.

Dubas thought he could go far with a soft core of skilled players and a small puck moving D. Through the years he started to realize it wasn't working and began trading picks for guys like Schenn & Boosh. He never learned his lesson until it was too late.

It's almost like he never watched an NHL playoff game in his life lmao

Not defending Dubas but I think his idea was the Avs.
Just so happened Reilly is not Makar, AM is not Mack, JT is not Landy, MM is not Rantanen and Willie is Willie, lol.

You need to build from the net out not RIGHT winger in you know what I mean
I love this. Will use it. with my addition.

Wow.
That hurts.
(The truth hurts).

The Leafs couldn't afford Hyman but want to sign Bert with no backend...Pathetic.
I know. We need to spend 70 million on forwards. Dumbad Moneyball away!

Oh and Samsonov is 6 and 14 but Sakic wanted him.

Sad but true and somehow convinced Shanahan that it could work.
