Love this kid, another ood game thus far. Love how feisty he can be. He's a very intelligent player.

Aren't they the same height?

Gaudreau was 5'6, 136 pounds in his draft year.

Timashov was 5'10, 185 pounds in his draft year.

It's probably unlikely he grows much more than his current height of 5'10 but there's a noticeable size difference between Timashov and a guy like Gaudreau.

Oi, never mind. I'm probably thinking more about where he was drafted and his eye for setting up his teammates then.

tima's a solidly built player.

speed is a bigger concern for him than size.

A lot about NHL hockey is having the balls to go into territory where you know you are going to get smoked. I bet many of those guys who were better than Zetterberg, just didn't want to go into those territories.

Watch a lot of film of Datsyuk, he goes into horrible areas of exposure and comes out somehow.

Most kids just don't want to jump off a cliff and rely on wings.

That is what top end soccer, football and hockey is about, and you don't think Hunter knows if the kid has that?

Sure he does.

Its not about talent, its about balls in the NHL. Hunter? You think that old guy knows about balls ? It is not written on their scouting sheets, but that is what he is looking for, guys who go into those areas, time and time again. And come out on the other side.

A defenceman of your team takes a shot from the point, and you are in front of the net??? Its almost the closest thing to taking live fire in a war. Really is.

I have known about 200 NHL hockey players, common denominator? Half crazy. To go out and risk possibly your life with a puck in the face, a stick in the eye, a massive concussion. Most of the guys, have big stones. Plain and simple.

Timashov with 1 goal and 2 assists today, Beavillier-less (left the game early because of an injury).

1 goal and 6 assists in 2 games with Shawinigan.

Drummondville's Sergei Boikov with a hit to the head of Timashov (not injured). One of his teammates jumped Boikov after.

1.94ppg now, behind only Garland's amazing 2.36.

Wonder if he can catch him.

That's the Russian defenceman Kasperi Kapanen walked around for the gold medal winning goal at the WJC.

Watch film of Datsyuk. Its really what abuse you are willing to fight through now with these guys. if he is built like a brick feces house and wants it.... he will get it under Babcock.

Forsberg? We may never, ever, see a guy like this again. Hope we do. Amazing that a foot problem brought him down. Not concussions.

If we assume Garland keeps up his pace for the rest of the year. Then Timashov will have to score 77 points in 27 games left or a 2.84 pace to have the same pace as Garland over a full season.

Would be pretty cool to have multiple prospects this year competing in the Memorial Cup tournament. Marne with London, Nielsen with Lethbridge, Timashov with Shawinigan

If those teams get bumped out of Mem. Cup runs then they might even end up producing for the Marlies during their Calder Cup run

Just begs the question... how much was his production being held back by being on the ramparts? He might have 15-20 more points now if he was playing with this team all year, but who really knows
