I'm sitting here thinking why aren't they pulling their goalie. 🤦‍♂️ This is only the second period.
Man, I said that at the end of the first. Could've swore we were headed into the third. This game is messing with my head!

This period has aged me 10 years.

Why do our goalies always melt and give up the softest goal when we are completely dominating lol. Kallgren reminding me of prime Freddie there. What an absolutely shitty goal to give up.

I’ll be surprised if the Panthers don’t win this now. Cold Campbell who played last night + tired legs.

Pull out a win somehow.

I don't think Kallgren was quite right after the Marchment hit that drove his skull into the crossbar. The backplate is almost zero protection on a goalie mask, and the shot that knocked him out of the game later was pretty routine.

Can someone explain to me when "falling on the puck in the corner" became a viable forechecking strategy?

Goaltending is going to be the biggest issue in the playoffs. I don't think it will be lack of offensive production from Marner and Matthews. It'll be goaltending, it's been pretty sub-par in 2022.
That's been the case each year :sarcasm:

But honestly, I agree.

I said it during the deadline, we should have tried hard for another goalie.

Definitely not giving up a first, but we should have aimed for something that is better than rookies.

Hutch tonight somewhere

The one where Marchment defied physics and somehow redirected into our goalie despite being pushed the other way?

Yup the one that followed the crosscheck into Matthew's back driving him headfirst into the boards and preceded the Huberdeau dive.

Keep things in perspective, this is a b2b away game. A loss here by the Panthers really isn't excusable from their perspective. Toronto looks like they're running on fumes at this point.
