Ask Team USA after tomorrow nightSo how's this guy doing?
Not great. So how's this guy doing?
I haven't watched the Canada-Germany match yet, but from the Latvian and Finland games it seemed to me that the Canadians just didn't have a team game. Whenever someone had the puck on their stick, it seemed like everyone else on the team became invisible. I've rarely seen so many people trying to do everything by themselves instead of working together as a team. Not great.
I wouldn't say horrible, but all of Canada are playing well below expectations, outside of the goaltending. Way too much perimeter play and passive PP work.
Which is funny because almost any other year, its the complete opposite I feel like.
I'm expecting a USA victory tonight. My brain can't comprehend how a guy like dave cameron with seemingly 75 years of coaching experience can be so completely oblivious to the fact that Ritchie and Coward do not work together. (Unless your idea of working is Coward taking weak wrist shots at the net all game long)U20 is a weird tournament. Canada dominated Finland and won easily, then kinda struggles vs smaller teams. Finland struggles vs Germany but beat USA. Today we will see the real level of Canada vs USA. Interesting game. Other group, Sweden and Czech have done well but not so tested yet. Interesting match too.
Anyway what I am saying there's no clear favourite yet. Good performances, bad performances etc. for me the most interesting match will be the Sweden vs Czech because I want to know what level these teams operate.
Yea, Canada has zero chemistry basically. Cowan and Ritchie both do better with the puck on their stick, and as you mentioned, that's not really happening with Cowan trying to play hero every single shift. I'm not convinced that kid wouldn't look off MacK, Rants and Makar to lob a gentle wrist shot on net if he were on the Avs. I'm sure Matthews, Marner and Nylander are going to love playing with him.I'm expecting a USA victory tonight. I thought for sure that the game to mix up the lines would be against Germany and he actually takes off Nadeau off the top line as if he was the problem. Canada has 1 working line and that's the Catton-McKenna line...the others have zero chemistry.
I've said it before but the only way Canada wins a medal is if their goalie steals them one.
To me this looks like a USA vs Sweden final.
Ritchie puck hog confirmed?Not great.

I haven't been this excited about an Avs prospect since Douchechain but I think he played in the wjc before he was drafted.
It's hard to get excited about the Temu knockoff version of RNH.You were more excited about Douchechain than MacGinnon??

I know if you look at the NHL website it says we are 6th in the West/ 3rd in the Central. But when you sort it by P%... we are 8th in the West with .583. I'd say we pretty much already are a mediocre club trying to compete for a wildcard spot.
