I've not even tried to figure out a trade. I was in the same boat last deadline where I didn't know what the best approach was, it gets that way sometimes when we aren't privy to what other teams are dangling, who will be in and out of the playoff picture etc.
The injuries haven't stopped the teams success, that's the positive.
The opportunity for these young players to step in with seeming ease has been impressive and perhaps a blessing in disguise. When they have a taste on the NHL they are going to work their tails off to try and make it more permanent down the road. With the Leafs being up against the cap all the time it won't take too long.
Greb is a bit of a banger. Minten, could be a Bergeron prototype. I'm not sure about Alex Nylander as a starter at this point on this team.
Look at the forwards who are out: Domi, Patch, McMann, Kampf, Kankrok, Reaves all out right now. Something has to give I suppose, especially if the Leafs are looking to upgrade somewhere.
It's amazing how depth for this team up front just seemed to arrive out of thin air. Secondary scoring is important, but it's also just playing a heavier game up and down the lineup.
Who will be the 3rd line centre they will target? What will the cost be?
It's really difficult to pinpoint.
