We also need defenseman

We have no assets from our previous management team.

We have no 2nd this yr no 1st or 2nd next yr and nonl 2nd the next yr

Knies Cowen Minten and Grebyonkin are not goingvany where.

Sometimes you have to say it is not our yr

Not trading our 1st this yr we have no clue if we will even make the playoffs.

Even with woll wevwere an average team.
Ya an average team with 3 soon to be 4 forwards make 11 million dollars. Who ever thought that was a good idea

If that becomes necessary you go get somebody, because that kid is dominating the AHL, you don't want to risk f***ing up his confidence before he has even a quater of a season in the AHL, never mind a full season, this kid doesn't even have a quater of a season, he's showing promise, don't rush him.

Rushing him seems like a bad idea.
One start and then evaluate isn't rushing him. He was 5.28 in two AHL starts last season and that didn't stop him from shredding it this year. I think it takes more than a single game to blow up his mojo. Now if he's up, Woll is gone for a while, and Sammy licks the bag they probably need a course correction rather than lay it all on the rookie but they aren't there yet. One game, and if that goes well, then two. Jones has been worse than Petruzzelli so I don't think he has earned being the first call up.

If you are saying don't rely on Hildeby as the long term fix I probably agree but I don't think they would consider that unless he was a phenom after the call up. I could see them going to Jones before they do that.

This is what happens when you treat the most important position in the game as an afterthought.

There's only one player on the ice the entire game. The last line of defense. The only thing preventing a puck from entering an open net.

So that player better be damn good.

Samsonov is NOT a stud goaltender. His history of poor play and inconsistent effort is concerning. Meanwhile Jones was the worst goalie in the NHL last year and currently sports an .887 SV% in the AHL this year.

The pedigree of the two combined doesn't give much confidence.

Fans are gonna have to get used to injury prone replacement level goalies from now on. The team can only afford guys trying to resurrect their failing careers. The inevitable byproduct of Studs'n'Duds.

The glory of "we can and we will".

Sammy was good last night, he came in with an 875 save%. 1 game doesn't prove me wrong.

Isn’t it great when you throw someone a low ball bait, and they take it and run? One game isn’t a sample, yet SEVEN was enough to make a thread, panicking that the Leafs needed to make a trade.

Exactly, short sample sizes are meaningless… be patient.

42 games last year, 0.919.

Calm down, and thanks for taking the bait and proving the point yourself.

Leafs currently sit 14th in SV% league wide with a .906 SV% average. Had Sammy let in a single goal yesterday Leafs would have fallen outside the top 20.

I'd actually be more interested in GA from any such list. Mind you, even that stat has to be interpreted in a specific way due to the GP totals being different in a number of places.

I mean he was fine yesterday but we locked that shit down really well props to the whole team. However, he didn’t track a single shot from above the circles

You are quite the broken record. Call me in 20 games and let's see where they are on this list.
Coming from the guy who's here no matter who we play saying the Leafs "will win", this is pretty hilarious.
Samsonov had a horrendous start to the season though and has been good since the beginning of November.

In his last six starts he has a save % of .935 and 1.90 GAA.

Our goaltending is by no means elite but I believe it is sufficient. If we can remain patient (for once) we may finally have our very own 1A guy in either Woll or Hildabeaut.

Yes, Hilda-BEAUT. I'm starting a thing, since he dislikes the term "beast".

Lets just try not too Rask for Raycroft one of these guys. I think Sammy splitting time with Woll is good for pacing his GP and development. Meanwhile Hildabeaut can play the majority of AHL games. Ppl may complain, but I am suprised we are doing something right with our goalie development for once.

Go Leafs Go baby! Weeuuu!

Yet all the Leafs keep doing is winning, so I must be doing something right.
They've lost several times when you've said they "will win" so no, winning isn't "all they keep doing".

Any team can win on any given night, therefore assuming victory on any given night is never right.

I don't assume a win every game. Mostly the obvious ones. Monday night against the Islanders is a good example. Tuesday against the Rangers will be a tougher game.

You also assumed we'd win against Boston, then Buffalo, then Chicago and we lost all of those. Like I said, any team can win on any given night, therefore assuming anything is foolish by definition.

Yup, occasionally I'm wrong, but have you read some of the posts on here?

Our priorities in scouting towards goaltending is what needs shifting.

Was Rask the last goalie we drafted in the first round?
