I standby my earlier point. While you may ultimately be correct, if your expectation is that Toronto win games 1-0 with their backup goalie in net, you're going to be terribly disappointed, because it's not going to happen very often.

When Campbell isn't in the net to play the roll of Superman is exactly when you need those 4+ goal efforts to help your backup out and give him some confidence. Instead, we scored 1 goal, and defensemen made awful plays on both the Coyotes goals, that contributed to the loss. Mrazek was kind of shit (2 goals surrendered), but his team did nothing to get him a win tonight. The boys will feel that it was on them, not him, and rightfully so.
But we’ve won him every game he’s played so far. We’ve given 4+ every other time. Can’t we expect our goalie, even backup, to give us one very solid game, where he may even steal it for us. Mrazek has done so for Carolina and Detroit in the past

It’s fine to be mad at the outcome, but there should be zero reason to be mad about the effort.

this was domination start to finish. The outcome does not reflect that unfortunately.

dermott was poor, mrazek and Brodie could have played the GWG better, but ultimately that was just the way that game was destine to finish. You just knew that was going to happen

props to zona goalie. Literally had no clue you even existed until tonight. But i won’t forget that name ever again

Nobody else to blame except for the non-existent captain imo. Not one but TWO $11m players didn't show up today and one at least has a legit excuse and couldn't dress.

Strap the C on Matthews already, the current Captain is the least noticable forward on the ice

They just haven't looked as sharp since the Covid outbreak. Especially Tavares seems like a shell of himself, he looked really good before that.

Whatever, we're comfortably going to the playoffs. The only thing that matters is how they play then.

We are going to get the piss beaten out of us in the playoffs by the likes of the Tampa, Washington, Florida or Boston. The Panthers are just a better version of the Leafs, in almost every way. Tampa knows how to win. Period. Both Boston and Washington will out structure Toronto and win the compete battle.

Holy crap, some of you so called fans need to get a grip.

Leafs dominated this game. The only reason they list is due to a really hot goalie that got lucky, as well.

Our bug guns all got good looks but he made great saves, or it hit the post (3 times).

Our team played great, or they played aweful ( a combination of both I think).

It's not out defense's fault. Or Mrazek's. Or Keefe's. Or ( insert the Leaf you hate the most). This isn't even on the refs.

Leafs met a hit goalie that also had some fantastic luck tonight.

Get over it, muffin.
Yeah what would make them feel better? Getting dominated but winning 2-1? That would be a pretty bad look.
I liked the way they played, but angry they lost because they couldn't finish. It happens. What are you going to do?

Ultimately, when you give up 2 goals, you haven't even played that bad. He was just average. I'd like to see him steal one, sure, but we shouldn't expect it.

Still annoying though.

Mrazek wasn't signed to be a back-up.

And what does the Yotes have in net? It ain't Carey Price. The only reason Coyotes had 2 goals was because they only had 18 shots...if they got 30 shots, Mrazek probably would have let in 3 to 4 goals...he lost them the game...the attempted missed poke check leading to the winning goal was brutal.

So adequate goaltending is a shutout? Because that's the only way they would have won like you say they would have.

Adequate goaltending would be to keep it tied 1-1 after 3 periods against the worse team in the league to give your team a chance to win in OT or shoot-out. 2 goals in 18 shots just ain't good enough.

Lol, you're making my point for me. The Coyotes had a complete nobody in net and were missing 10 starters and their head coach. Despite all that, our team of highly paid superstars, a caliber of which the Coyotes don't have a single player, managed ONE goal. That's just not good enough. Period.

Mrazek wasn't good. Nobody is pretending that he was. Despite him playing completely averaged, he only surrendered 2 goals. Look around the League and see how many guys have GAA's under 2... His guys should have put up enough offensively to get him the win. They didn't and they'll eat this troll job as a team.

Matthews aside every single one should be ashamed of themselves for losing this game, I don't care that they had 47 shots losing to Arizona is unacceptable

they never get the piss beaten out of them, they lose a very close series in game 7. are you even a leafs fan?

Opposing goalies are allowed to have great games and win games they probably shouldn't. This is still the NHL, it happens, relax and move on.

How many games has Soup won for the Leafs when they probably didn't deserve it.

Toronto scored 3 goals on 18 shots last night, vs a much better team. Shit happens. Your goalie doesn't always steal you the game.

Score goals.
