I wouldn't necessarily say "domination." Leafs have a lot of trouble against teams that are just committed to collapsing to the slot and a lot of times don't have the point shot from the blueline or the slot presence to break things down. So they spam shots and get a lot of perimeter action and get 'goalie'd'. The shot clock looks great, the goalie looks like a Vezina winner. The CBJ/Montreal playbook in a nutshell.

Games like this expose our lack of shot from the blueline. Couldn't even get a wrister through for a tip or rebound.

We could use a puckmoving/QB upgrade on the blueline. Get more of that dynamic east west movement, a shot threat to pull things apart, a guy who can distribute cleanly to either side wall.

The clowns on tsn blaming brodie for the game winner when mrazek is cheating to his glove side before the pass is made, then attempts to poke the puck away and ending up on his stomach, when he could have simply slid across completely controlled in the butterfly and easily stopped it. We have some really bad contracts in Mrazek, holl and Ritchie.. but the one that is shining bright is tavares 11 mil cap hit. Being a fan of a team and Tavares, it's really sad to see him play like this i dont know if its an injury or something mental.. but he needs to figure it out quick because we would need the skills of an 11 mil cao hit

I’d say Brodie is a bit to blame. He gave inside position too easily to dzingel. Rielly gave the pass up to easily. But they get out of 100%, maybe 40% combined, mrazek played that worse than I could’ve, he gambled on a 50/50 poke check that left the middle half of the net wide open, he plays that like Campbell, Andersen, reimer, f***ing bernier, that’s probably right into his chest and we get a face off

Of course not. I actually stayed up to watch this one expecting a loss. It had all the makings of a Leafy choke job.

1. Backup goalie in net for the opponent.
2. 2nd game of a back-to-back they played like shit in last night.
3. 10 regulars out of the lineup for the other team.
4. Opponents making NHL debuts.
5. Worst team in the league.
6. Backup goalie in net for Toronto.

This had all the makings of a complete shit show, and it was GLORIOUS.

tried that experiment against Columbus and lost a series.

Yeah I can't even remember the last time a goalie stole 2 points against the Leafs. Maybe Jarry back in November? The most glaring one was Shesterkin in October

The problem for me is the two highlighted statements

1. mrazek gave up 2 goals, and yet he didn’t have a .900. He has yet to register a .900+. I think tonight might’ve been his best statistical game yet

2. I hate that saying. We said the same about game 6 Boston 2019. We said the same about Columbus. We said the same thing about Montreal. It seems we are very good at “finding the 1 out of 10” to the point that it doesn’t seem that way.
