Soft call after soft call on the Leafs, but Washington wasn't scoring so he kicked it to the front of the net. Then Washington has free reign for all the trips, hooks, and crosschecks they want.

Glad the announcers mentioned that the rules prohibit the official from putting the puck directly into the net. But the refs figured out the next best thing with the sweet setup on the winner.
The officiating sucked tonight and they even got an assist on the game winner but the team better team won tonight.
"Caps played hard and won battles" = getting to play clutch and grab with zero repercussions while we get called on phantom plays. Not to mention a literal assist by a referee. Joke.
- We are clearly worse off with Matthews-Marner together, just like when they get shutdown in the playoffs, every year. Shutdown Matthews-Marner and you shutdown the leafs.
- Also Reaves is not an NHL player
- Holmberg should never play top 6 minutes ever again

I can’t take Holmberg and Robertson anymore. We desperately need secondary offence and these two have completely failed to provide it. Just out for a skate every night making stupid mistakes, taking awful penalties, and flubbing on numerous offensive chances. Holy shit this team needs to get healthy so we can jettison these two the f*** out of here.
Refs were awful. Phantom calls on OEL, refusing to call Washington for anything after that even up call, and then they get an assist on the Capitals GWG. Bush league officiating from a bush league.
Matthews and Marner can be separated again. Tonight was a good reminder of why we wanted them broken up.

That was easily the worst offensive effort of the season.
I don't care about the Caps defence, find a f***ing way.
Hope they are a lot better against a hot Pens team tomorrow (who are also on a b2b with travel).
Lol and Caps fans were crying in their pre-game thread about Leaf reffing bias. Buncha casuals.
