Glad the announcers mentioned that the rules prohibit the official from putting the puck directly into the net. But the refs figured out the next best thing with the sweet setup on the winner.

I can’t take Holmberg and Robertson anymore. We desperately need secondary offence and these two have completely failed to provide it. Just out for a skate every night making stupid mistakes, taking awful penalties, and flubbing on numerous offensive chances. Holy shit this team needs to get healthy so we can jettison these two the f*** out of here.

Refs were awful. Phantom calls on OEL, refusing to call Washington for anything after that even up call, and then they get an assist on the Capitals GWG. Bush league officiating from a bush league.

Matthews and Marner can be separated again. Tonight was a good reminder of why we wanted them broken up.

To make this loss sting a bit more, this has been the Leafs 16th home game (12-4) with only 10 road games thus far (4-4-2).

This means thus far their schedule has been quite advantageous and with 6 fewer road games they may be batting above their EV (expected value),

That was easily the worst offensive effort of the season.

I don't care about the Caps defence, find a f***ing way.

Hope they are a lot better against a hot Pens team tomorrow (who are also on a b2b with travel).
