it was weird when the NHL's LEADING team traded a franchise legend HOF dman to a contender so he could have a chance to win a cup before he retiredThat just shows how hard it is to win.

Not sure. I think any business likes cost certainty but they would probably prefer a soft cap. That’s why they are proponents of the salary cap
That’s the issue. The depth players definitely did their jobs last night. McCabe, Bertuzzi, Domi, even Jarnkrok, etc got down and dirty. They fought, showed they won’t go down easy and be pushed around. JT also threw some hits so I won’t complain too much about him but Matthews, Marner and Nylander has to be the softest trio ever. It’s actually embarrassing.Well, with the addition of Edmundson, at the very least, we're going to make the Bruins eat some lumber along the way. I didn't mind the crosscheck by McCabe on Marchand, that rat had it coming. I liked Domi having his way with Marchand, as the snake tried to slither away. And you know that with Edmundson in front of the net, the Bruins will be cross-checked continually. As for winning using this type of physical response, it ain't gonna happen if the core 4 won't engage and only play on the perimeter.
Maybe the Leafs can play some games for the Saudi royal family and get in on dirty oil money ?No idea.
List all the businesses that make money and don't want to make even more.
As I said, "as much on the D".goal can be on pk or whatever thats not changing the fact the goal happrnned because he was soft. He would have leaned over and using an active stick like you should on pk, the pass never reaching geekie and this goal never happenn
Nylander looked engaged early, than that giveaway seemed to deflate him.
Funny this is, there are other players on this team that make that same move constantly. He fumbled the puck and it was unfortunate.
Still think they can beat Boston in a series, just need these guys to take it up a notch, if they can or want to is the question.
That has nothing to do with them not wanting to win.Maybe the Leafs can play some games for the Saudi royal family and get in on dirty oil money ?
Absolute gold mine !
The whole NHL was sponsored by Huawei - another criminal enterprise.
Greedy owners really stoop low.
Sad times.
Crosschecking Marchand in the face is a huge plusWhat did you like about McCabe's game tonight? Was it the 2 stupid cross checking penalties to start the game (1 was incorrectly given to Knies) or was it the Bruins #3 goal where McCabe had no idea what to do on the PK, caught in no mans land at the side of the net which he allowed the seam pass and then didn't go out to the shooter and just kind of collapsed to the ice with his back to the puck in hopes the shot would hit him?
I feel like, generally speaking, that's been the trend of this era .. particularly in recent years. The supporting cast has done well but the big guns just can't carry the team.
It's called interest. He suffers from lacking interestNylander I bet was battling something. He had a bad game, couldn’t hold onto the puck, not engaged at all. Definitely didn’t seem 100%
Who else is looking forward to eight more years of idiotic plays from Styles……….
Im thinking dops is already scripting which leaf to suspend in round 1

His dad had the same issue. Lots of talent. Shows flashes of brilliance then dissapears for some reason
He also reminds me a lot of Kovalev. Except Kovalev had balls
Well, it's either them or Florida, isn't it?View attachment 832127
Lets hope the Leafs don't meet Boston in the playoffs because it doesn't seem to matter how many tough players they surround our soft core 4 with the Big Bad Bruins still own the Leafs.
These last 2 recent games against the Bruins have emphasized that Leafs shortcomings are still a cause for concern.
Toronto hasn't beaten the Bruins since 2022.
Well when you’ve been watching this team for 60 years you tend to learn which teams have what it takes and which don’t. And the Leafs have the most talented core forward I’ve seen on this team but they are also the most timid and least competitive group I’ve seen on any team in the league and that will never change until they trade one of them and Tavares salary is off the books. Then they can build a deeper forward group and dcore that can actually compete for a cup. You call it storm clouds. I call it recognizing what hasn’t worked in the past acknowledging their obvious flaws and changing the formula. They might, but it is an easier recovery than those who get struck by lightning carrying those storm clouds.
Battling the Boston Flu.Nylander I bet was battling something. He had a bad game, couldn’t hold onto the puck, not engaged at all. Definitely didn’t seem 100%
Fair, I liked that also. I wished he would have targeted the jaw and required it to be wired shut.Crosschecking Marchand in the face is a huge plus
News flash…….the ref’s DO NOT have it in for the Maple Leafs, calls get missed all the time for every team, focus on the real reasons this team didn’t win………What did you guys think of the Refs blowing those 2 similar penalty calls? Somehow give the Bruins a 5 on 3 to start the game getting the wrong player on the Leafs and then somehow only give them 4 minutes on an obvious 6-minute call?
All this after blowing 2 continuation plays in the last game.
....and you wonder why so many conspiracy theories get started lol.
