#1 - FIRE THE PRESIDENT #2 FIRE THE GM & GO WITH AN INTERIM/ASST GM #3 FIRE THE COACH & HIRE AN INTERIM COACH #4 HIRE A NEW PRESIDENT WHO THEN REPLACES THE COACH WHO THEN HIRES THE BEST AVAILABLE COACH (Not his buddy) #5 NEW COACH DETERMINES WHO TO KEEP/TRADE/BUY OUT (Everyone is on the block at this point). IN A NUTSHELL....WE NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE THE LEAFS ARE REALLY PUTRID & GOING NO WHERE AS BUILT, MANAGED & PRESIDED OVER.

Should we really be paying 7.75 million for 3 players that do nothing at ES and are decent PKers?

We need different kinds of players. Kerfoot, Jarnkrok, Engvall, Malgin, Holmberg.... they're all the same. Non-impact players. Having some versatility is nice, but when the majority of your forward group is made up of vanilla players, it just doesn't work.
Bring back Komarov!

Maybe it was just nausea

Is this for real? Is it a daycare center or a team he is coachin? Poor Tavares , hope he feels better now.

Now he has to put Tavares out again next OT because he made a booboo. Little Tavares get so upset when things dont goes his way, so Keefe must let him try until he gets it...

Keefe U always , always always, put the players most likely to help u win on the ice, in every situation u can.

I think leafs would win more with a HFboard poll led coaching.

Defencemen and bottom 6 forwards looked like they were moving in quicksand in this one. They lost this team the game.

Matthews looked great though

Wow. So yeah jersey seems for real.

Trying to be positive but another thing... if you look at the standings... yes Leafs had a bad west trip against a couple shit teams... but they've played 7 of the top 9 teams. Boston, Jersey, Vegas, Kings, Dallas, Carolina, Winnipeg.

Leafs sit 8th overall. Haven't played Islanders yet.

Leafs got at least a point off all of them but Kings and only 1 point in 2 games at Vegas.

They need to beat up on the shitty teams more.

New Jersey's looks like a team. The Leafs are a collection of star players. New Jersey barely celebrates after scoring their regulation goals.

That weak backhand giveaway by Engvall behind the red line and even weaker recovery checking was a shameful display from a professional hockey player. And he didn't appear to miss a shift after that. I don't blame Engvall. I blame the people in charge who ignore if not reward this kind of weak play.

Daycare... Poll based coaching. This is some solid gold! :D

At this point in the season, I would gladly swap rosters with the NJD!!!

An 11 game winning streak is exactly what I have expected from our Leafs for a couple of seasons, especially with the contracts our 'star' players demanded and received!

Again, other NHL teams are making a mockery of our overpaid and over rated Leafs.

Watch the Sabres do the same on Saturday night.

I'm happy with the loser point!!!
I'm also happy with the loser point.

But not happy that I'm happy with it.

My god that is an ugly quote from a Keefe. Lets translate that in "normie" speak... I got no clue what will win us a game so I'm just guessing, I got no strategy, no purpose just gonna go on my Hockey "ESP". It's pretty easy to see what wins you games in OT, get the puck keep the puck and wait for the other teams system to break down.

Last nights game was pretty simple, NJ was sending in two forecheckers to pressure the puck, then they were pressuring the person who would be receiving the outlet pass. A simple quick 10 foot chip pass or a play where you out number the forecheckers would have broke down NJ game plan but what does Keefe do? Nothing, not a damn thing, continues with the same offensive structure. The only thing that won us a point was a fluke goal.

How long do we have to continue to watch one of the most talented team of individuals on a Leafs team in the last 50 years be subjected to an ineffective coach. You could take any person on the HF board and put them behind the bench and this team is so talented, they would win you 40 games.

The solution is pretty simple, you don't have the cap space or assets that are going to improve this team materially, so its not a player move that is going to make this team better. Shuffling the deck chairs with the same coach is not going to get better results. The answer is pretty clear. If Dubas wont fire Keefe, Dubas has to go and the new guy can fire Keefe.

If it's a mistake to send out one of your $11M forwards to start OT then he isn't an $11M forward.

Its not a mistake to send out Tavares. It's a mistake to send out Tavares, Mitch and Rielly together with Keefe behind the bench.

The mistake isn't in sending out the player, it's the reason why he sent out the player.
If they are coaching by telepathy they should have hired Kreskin.

Nylander was flying last night, not sure how a coach's feelings didn't conclude he should have started.

I think the previous guy's point still stands. If it's a mistake to send out your main core(expensive) guys that you've gone "all in" on, when OT comes around.......then you have a problem. The same problem that you will have as soon as the playoffs begin.

Point taken but should the coach eventually coach his team when he see's the exact same breakdowns in OT, game after game after game after game after game?

Keefe is like 0/1000 when going off feels.
Meh. When they're winning lots(like last year's 115 point season) Keefe gets some credit, yes? And he deserves some criticism for sure when they screw up. It's all part of the gig. Overall tho......he's proven to be a good Coach. Ultimately, we can second-guess everything he does in hindsight, but it's up to our big players to perform well. I don't blame him too much for going with our best players in OT.
The word prove gets used a lot around here but no actual proving gets done. You know how many all nighters I had to pull to not fail my logic course in university. I don't think people understand the significance of this word.

Please prove how Keefe proved anything. My dog can coach this team when the core is flying. They don't even listen to Keefe when they're on lol (in some areas not all) they're dynamic players who create their own offense. It's been that way ever since Babcock. I remember Babcock saying he doesn't tell marner what to do offensively because marner is the expert, not him.

Slow, soft, disinterested, Murray was the only reason they got a point.

This is not a team that's built for playoff success.
I was at the game. I'm hesitant to say that Murray was good. He looked ok. I think his massive equipment is part of the reason they got the point.

Nylander leads the team in ES goals, so there is no reason to start him 3-on-3. Much better to start three of the five players with the most giveaways!
People have short memories. Nylander was a problem last year 3 on 3. He often would pull himself off the ice at the worse time.
The way this team is coached, I wouldn't give the leafs much chance if they had McKinnon, McDavid and Crosby available to throw out there. There are far too many players "expressing themselves" on this team and not enough discipline. That is 100% coaching.
