They definitely need a new coach, that is true.

But i want the team to stop patching over holes and actually fix the damn problem before it's unfixable. I've wanted this for 5 years now. I'm still watching every game hoping and praying, but here we still are.

They can never trade a Makar or Vas as they are never available.
They will always need to sign mid pairing Dman like any other contenders.
They have not been drafting and developing kids with physical edges and when they do, they are pretty good but still no Dman in sight. As Dubas tended to draft small offensive Dmen.
Changing a coach and bringing in a new mentality is important as that’s also lead to players playing a different game.

When the Leafs lose, Marner does not look, feel remotely like a franchise player. Not sure if that says something about his value when he's a top end player and acting like it. Or if it means when he's off he's just going to be really off.

We've had so many debates on here about Marner relative to a guy like Aho. Aho is a skilled guy who is also a trusted defensive player. Don't watch Canes games on a regular basis but he just plays it honestly and there's no goofy stuff.

Aho doesn't play with "prime" wingers or his stats would rival or even exceed

Also if you look at the game, there were hardly any defensive breakdowns by the canes because they know they have to play hard for their goalie. They also have playoff pedigree having gone to conference finals

Marner is a glorified JOKE. He isn't Rantanen. Rantanen led the Avs when all of Mack/Makar/Landeskog were out.

Marner without Tavers/Matthews/Nylander is what? NOTHING!

Keefe shouldn’t be fired for sitting Kampf, nor for losing to Carolina. I thought Holmberg played as well as he does. But, continuing to give games to one of the worst goalies I’ve seen since Toskala, THAT’S a fireable offence!! We basically gave away a point by starting that mentally fragile sieve.

They show up almost every night ready to play intense, structured hockey and it always seems like everyone is on the same page.

He earns his contract, and yet is disproportionally targeted relative to players that don't, and bigger problems, because people don't like him personally, based on their half-decade old misunderstanding of contract valuation in the NHL that have bred deep-rooted feelings of contempt.

Marner‘s agent realized Dubas messed up the team hierarchy and took advantage. You cannot begrudge him for doing it to an apprentice GM.
