Post-Game Talk: Leafs Lose 7-3

The fact we really just kind of laid down in the 3rd as well is....concerning. Like obviously the game was over but go be an ass hole for 20 minutes hit the shit out of them, take a pound of flesh with you. You can take it to the bank that Tampa wouldn't just roll over and play out a game they were getting beaten bad in. If they don't show up Thursday night it is curtains on this one.

Maybe............. just maybe let your starting 19 take the warm up rather then those who are scratched................(Knies and Gus) Didnt see Lilly during the warm up.

If anything we werent run and gun enough. We looked nervous and scared to make a mistake. This led to rushed puck decisions with little to no purpose
 
In what can only be called a classic Leaf playoff game, the Leafs did what Leafs do. Choke in epic fashion.

We've known for about 5 months we would be playing Tampa. We were playing at home. Our cement head of a coach puts out our 3rd , then 4th line, AT HOME to start the game and we get scored on. We play a season to win home ice, to determine who we want on the ice and Keefe decides I want my 3rd line and 4th line on the ice to start the game, with a Rocket Richard winner, a 99 point guy a 40 goal guy and a former Conn Smythe and Selke winner and a ppg 2nd line center on the bench. Jebus!

We knew the refs would be looking for us and we take EIGHT PIM's, almost a full period short handed, was there any discussion about playing with in the lines of the game?

In every possible way we were not prepared to play, we had almost a week of rest to prepare for Tampa and we looked like we were on a moonshine bender for the last week.

I eye balled this, I might have made a couple of errors. This tells us we were either grossly not prepared and chasing the game or the refs clearly had an agenda. The refs call a couple of late ones against TB to make it look like the game was not called as lop sided as it was. I think we were simply not prepared to play the game as it was going to be called and played tonight.

Missed the first half of the game and tuned into the crazy lol. Gsrbage start to the series for sure as Tampa came out blazing at the start but 3 guys had to leave the game with injuries including Hedman which really hurts them going forward as they are already thin on depth and banged up a bit.

Just like last year, it's only game one folks.

The Bunting play is interesting for sure in that he definitely deserved what he got there but it's hard to figure out how "predatory" the hit is when he's not even looking at the other player and was trying to run interference. The injury will play a part though.

We all knew are GENIOUS boy wonder GM rolled the dice with Murray and Sammy Sammy is what he is .a Freddie Anderson jack Campbell type.
When u decide 4 years ago u had the next generation of offensive pop and abandoned trying to develop a goalie or a Norris type defenceman
Let Pittsburgh have him .he can explain why he is smarter than Crosby malkin and Letang

Can’t blame a lack of grit and toughness this year. We certainly beat them in the “trolly tracks”.

I mean, Tampa barely got dressed in Game 1 last year. They didn't roll over because they were still asleep.

We've been waiting on that next level goalie for a couple decades now. The "great during the regular season but not in the playoffs" shtick has been crushing but I'm kinda numb to it now.
 
The worst part about this is that all that hype and the game starts with a complete wet fart, has a slight moment of hope, then is off the tracks before the the half way mark. Then it's a 46 hour wait to see if they learned anything at all.

This core has not learned a dam thing the last 7 years so I doubt they learn anything from last night. They will go thru the motions and go spend their money when it’s all over.

I was so tempted to buy tickets for last nights game, thank god I didn’t.

I can’t even act surprised anymore. I woke up with a bunch of texts from friends laughing and making jokes about the Leafs this morning and I can’t help but just laugh along at this point.

Keefe was absolute trash last night. Tampa was suppose to be chasing the matchup game, not us but Keefe found a way for us to be chasing right from puck drop.

I don’t know if my calmness is because I’m still confident in this team or because I’ve been so consistently let down by this franchise I’ve lost the ability to care.

Games like last night are the reason I'll never buy Leafs playoff tickets.

It's the second one. I've heard all the same jokes, teasing, insults.

Nothing they do shocks me anymore, just another page in the collection of embarrassments over the years. For our sanity, I hope they somehow win this, but I'm not sure how anyone can know this history of this franchise, and look at their performance last night and think of any other outcome other than another series loss.
