The game is three periods long.

Count 'em. One, two, and three. I really wish the Leafs would show up for them all.

Especially the first.

These guys are paid millions, MILLIONS, to play a game for a living. It's unacceptable for them to not show up on time. Kids everywhere the world over working at a crap minimum wage job can show up for their shift on time.

These guys should have been ready from the drop of the puck.

I feel bad for Berube facing the same challenges Keefe did. How to get these overpaid bums to take games against bottom feeders seriously enough to be ready on time. All I know is Berube better have them ready from now on as the schedule doesn't get any easier.

Shame on you Leafies shame on you.

Another B2B next weekend and then the weekend after that as well. Leafs always seen to get more than their share of these back-to-back games. Islanders were fresh last night BTW.
I’ve been saying December was a tough schedule with B2B every weekend. With two noon starts in the remaining 4, 2-2 would be fantastic.

They schedule them themselves.
Not sure why the leafs picked the dates they did, but it’s a weird schedule. Saturday home/road schedule is like 50/50

I agree with that.

Tanev has done better than I thought he would. But I'm still not sold on him as 1RHD. Add in the fact he will start declining as early as next year and I think that's the position to target for improvement going forward.

All they gotta do is figure out how to afford one under the cap with four forwards sucking up all the money.

Never saw much of him before this year, buts he’s been good.

Only 5 pages after a loss.
The interest in this place seems to be on a downward trend.

Wonder where people have migrated to?

He's been good.

But that's the problem. Good isn't good enough. They need someone great.

At least he's earning his salary so far and that's better than a few other players on this team.

This is the answer. When you have the same players for 9 years and they have succeeded in winning one playoff round, there isn't any objective informed fan who believes they will win the Cup, let alone a First Round.

Sure we cheer them on, it's in many of our DNAs since we were kids and former athletes. We point out the positives and hope they find lightning in a bottle. To gaslight myself after so many decades of watching this franchise, lol, I have to have SOME dignity right?

As I've said on here multiple times, Berube will understand this fairly soon once the honeymoon phase ends. Former coaches, fans, management have all been enchanted by their season success and dynamic (at times) talent., only to learn every year that it is all a mirage. Once the going gets tough, they refuse to break through.

If Stolarz and Woll can play lights out, like any team in the NHL; they have a chance at playoff success.

Otherwise, since they won't change the actors, it's the same old play at the same old theatre.

Jets fan here in peace .
Serious question, do you think the Jets really can beat the Leafs. I think they have lost the last 5 or 6 to your team.

Hexes and spells aside, yes absolutely.

...but then there's whatever the words "Anything better than beating the Leafs?" cast into existence....pretty fascinating.

If we need Stolarz and Woll (<$3.5m combined) to play lights out for playoff success, why do we need to pay 4 players more than half the cap?

BOTH TEAMS need to be playing a back to back game IMHO. One team playing rested is an unfair advantage for the team that played the previous day.

This one was atrociously scheduled with the NYI coming off a 4 day rest and our Leafs playing 3 in 4 nights. The schedule maker needs to be drawn and quartered.

And, as always, the opposing team plays MUCH HARDER against our Leafs than they normally do against other NHL teams. It's like beating our Leafs is their Stanley Cup.

I'm also sick and tired of Toronto area players getting their 1st career goals against our Leafs.

My whine is over.

The other truth is that our Leafs played poorly and our goalie couldn't save them!
