Given how this team plays while under pressure I wouldn't waste any assets to add to this team.

I don't have much faith in any of our goalies; our D is suspect; our special teams are a JOKE; we cannot play any offensive hockey when neutral zone is clogged

Let this team sink or swim; DO NOT ADD anything to this team if it costs any premier assets (1st rounders, Lily, 2nd rounders, etc...)

If I am a GM I stay pat don't do F ALL.

- Matthews is injured no guaranteee when his wrist will be healed
- Don't have faith in Tavares or Nylander to show up when it matters
- Don't have much faith in Keefe either; he refuses to seprate matthews and marner to spread out offense; doesn't think the game right; or preps the team right; special teams are a freakin JOKE

- Adding to this team is NOT a good idea

Di@k knob Andersen has them thinking everything is going to go in. Just wrecking the mindset of the team. Slam Andersen on injured reserve. Get a quality backup. Some saves will turn right in to confidence and trust. How can you trust anything andersen represents right now. He’s adding a negative energy if you believe in that stuff, i do.
Carry on like you are adding to the team before this meltdown in net.
Honestly i would trade or bench Andersen and give the net to Campbell. Campbell is taking the net tomorrow and not giving it back. That’s great.
Dubas should listen to offers on Rielly. He’s another sh!t show. Get a solid defensive all around big minute defenseman for him. He’s ruining our Powerplay constantly. Drives the puck into pressure constantly. He can’t defend anyways so thats enough. Our defense has 7 goals. Screw offensive defensemen myth. Anyone playing safe defense can get points with our forward group.
Kerfoot wasn’t one of my favourites but that guy works his sack off. We shouldn’t trade him for cap reasons. I like him now lots.
Trades need to happen for depth. A solid backup for Campbell.
Dubas should view the trade deadline as if it was the winning team we watched before this garbage run Andersen caused. Definitely build this more

Spezza has 16 points in only 10 minutes on average a night. Not saying more time per game will result in more production, but I am kinda sayin it. Use him more!

I think his production speaks more to the fact that some guys excel with less icetime and more rest.

I've thought about this too. At the same time though, if youre goalie is playing hurt. shouldnt your head coach and GM be putting their heads together figuring out what to do. Andersen hurt, Campbell hurt. No one trusts Hutch, Woll probably not ready.

Competitiveness? He couldn't take the pressure.
He's had 4 days off. He will be off a minimum of another 5 days now. plus he was off on his injury for a few games as well. Has he played 20 games all year? Rest shouldn't be an issue.

It's definitely mental for him, you can tell just by his reaction when he let's in dumb goals. I think he needs mental rest not being number 1 but being number 1a 1 ab.

My comment about the rest was more in terms of seeing what he is capable of in a playoff series without the big question mark.

I won't write him off completely. Split the crease up or make him backup but I would not move him unless we are getting something back. He is playing like shit, has been for some time now, with some hints of greatness but im not ready to move him for another question mark taking a hit on our prospects or future depth this season.

At the end of the day, he needs to rotate with Jack as 1a 1b or backup for a bit. We ain't getting anything we need this season(between the posts) without giving up to much. I would even sign him next year if we can't get anything to build on... obviously for a better price but I still think Freddy has something to offer.

Just my opinion.

I would agree that this is the correct move but I think Dubas will feel tremendous pressure to do something. I’m not sure if Dubas will survive the purge if the Leafs go nowhere in the playoffs

Yea, you're probably right. I would like to see him used a little more still. I mean they are using Thornton 15 minutes a night when he is clearly not good enough for that.

At 31 he has a fairly small window of “prime” hockey left. The worst part is he’s disintegrating the very moment the Leafs want to take that championship step. If Campbell comes in and steals his job, fine. But it Campbell continues to be the Joffrey Lupul of goalies we might see a bigger offseason retool than expected.
