We definitely deserved that loss.
Very disorganized, bad penalties, turning pucks over, just a very lazy performance.
McCabe makes two crucial mistakes.

I guess getting a single point is somewhat a small win when you play that badly but you need to win that game when you're up 3 to 1.

A second straight 4-3 overtime loss on Long Island. Not happy about another blown multi-goal lead, but the Islanders play the Leafs as tight as anyone and Toronto really struggles to hold leads against that 60 minutes pressure style of compete.

Overall, not terribly unhappy with the outcome with the exception of that inexplicable grenade in overtime from McCabe. Why in the world would you do that when you just got a quick change of possession?

Points in 5 straight though, so on to Colorado!

Why were Matthews and Marner starting OT if you were using McCabe anyways? Those two are a joke together in OT. Keefe is proven correct for not playing his stars first. When he does, it's an easy win for the opposing team like today.
Didn’t they just score last OT? It makes no sense putting McCabe there. Maybe Keefe was trusting him defensively but why not just go with your big guys or a guy like lil. Keefe with another brainless ot decision.

Jones blew it tonight, simple as that.

The ass kissers and excuse makers and excuse makers will disagree but all you have to do to prove me right is look at the first 2 goals.

Neither one can go in.

They both did.

I thought Jones had a bad game but he was still better than Samsonov this season. If Woll comes back in the next month or so I think they're an above average duo. I hope Treliving upgrades on defence. As long as they get someone with term, or they can re-sign, I don't think losing a few assets is a big deal. No rentals though.

There's a few teams in the league where no matter how well or poorly they're playing I always expect the Leafs to lose to them. Ottawa, Buffalo and NYI are some of them. Even when the Leafs were up 3-1 I totally expected the Isles to come back.

You’re probably right, but he’s earned the benefit of the doubt for me at least. Still a better game than many Sammy has given them

Could have used something from the 2nd line. Not a great effort but certainly not embarrassing, either. Jonesy wasn't great but still gave us a chance to win. Hopefully we get to see a more concerted effort on Saturday at home against a decent team.

How many overtime goals have been scored against the Leafs in their OT losses when Marner and Matthews were on the ice?
Don't know why Keefe went away from starting Liljegren, Kampf and whoever in OT when that worked decently for a while?

An entertaining game.
I'd like to know the % of face offs we win to begin overtime. It can't be good.
McCabe's pass that led to the icing that led to the OT goal..what were you thinking?
Two for AM, cool.
Sees use folks next time.

Tkachuk with a late goal to tie and Reinhart with the OT winner with 0.7 seconds left

The way Boston is playing the Panthers should catch them soon.

I keep throwing up in my mouth every time someone mentions bringing him back for $7M/yr lol. League minimum is my ceiling.
I'd agree. He's probably worth 5 ish but I just think a different type of player will benefit us. I'm not overly concerned. We're guaranteed to make the playoffs and they can all redeem themselves then, but in a perfect world I'd rather not have Tavares, Brodie or Giordano in the lineup.
