Yes, but he was not wearing skates tonight.

If you're suggesting on ice personnel changes need to be made, not sure I am there yet.

Unless this is as good a team Matthews and gang can be.

Rielly extension is justified even if he isn't a great player he's okay.

Sometimes you have to change the coach to change the results.

They've already changed the coach once. They've changed the GM once.

They've changed goalies. They've changed the defense. They've changed the depth.

And right now, it is Matthews/Marner who are letting this team down more than anyone... And are mostly getting away with it scot-free. Pitchforks are out for Holl and Engvall, but meanwhile Matthews has been practically non-existent for the past 3 games and he has barely received criticism at all.

What are we planning to do with Muzzin and Murray?

If both are on LTIR this season we need to get quality replacements

Leafs need Matthews to wake up and stop being shit too

The team is looking like a easy 1st round win for whoever gets them

Not enough compete, composure and tenacity so far

Players are content with losing

If wr lose tommorrow might need a few jerseys tossed on the ice our next home game

Clearly the issues run deep, but one thing that's undeniable is Keefe has endless patience for his top players and will throw everyone else under the bus to protect them. That's not a good way to motivate a team
That's because his top players own him and he's afraid of them. There's no way he should have backed down after saying that the elite players weren't elite a few games back. All it took was for Mitch (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree) Marner to chirp back publicly and Keefe's knees buckled. He has zero control over this team.

Players are next in line for accountability. Coach and GM have done everything for them. Designed systems and built teams for the core to be successful and they have unfortunately failed, at least to start the season. They have come out and played like they need a AAA remedial course.

This guy is right. We have had a GM and coach be extremely hard on them. They haven't responded. They have a GM and coach which have done everything to support them and their success. They have responded better at times but ultimately what is it going to take for these guys?

They removed a lot of what made them good to add dumb, slow and/or checking players that can't make plays.

Making big trades in season is almost impossible. The only thing you can do is fire the coach and that's what all teams do when they hit a wall.

But at this point, if they don't get better, just do it on the offseason along with Dubas and whoever else.

Tonight's meltdown started with a great takeaway from Engvall on the PK who sped up the ice on a turnover. Not 10 feet beyond his own blueline with pressure on, he decides to lateral a pass to center ice which results in a goal against. He could have skated further before assessing options. He could have taken the win and curled the puck down into the corner to burn off another 20 seconds. But no.
That was such a horrible play

man no offense but you are part of the problem.. stop giving them money. i stopped buy leafs stuff after the embarassment of the montreal series. I was so pissed and still am that dubas/keefe are still running the show. i am not paying mlse even a penny from my pocket until dubas/keefe and may be shanahan are fired

Too each their own.

I expect both to happen, but only 1 in the next 2 weeks

I'm flexible on timeline, but I think it's time the whole program gets the big make over. I don't like the idea that a 2-3 game winning streak can mask all of these structural issues. It's deeper than that now.

Maybe they need a different coach who will actually do that rather than walk back when he was critical of them.
Babcock tried but it didn't worn

Babcock lost the room, his structure on defense floped so we went Keefe

Same is happening with Keefe

I want to say the city of Toronto across all sports is cursed/toxic but the Raptors did win in 2019

Not winning anything in the AM34 era would be an all-time low.

losing to these bottom end teams is bad enough but we're also getting filled in by them 5 on 5

and i'm left to wonder where the ''insane'' depth and ''elite'' defense i heard all preseason

and lastly i'm tired of the non stop pimping of Tavares , the guys done nothing outside of net front on the pp , he's freaking invisible even strength so i'm left to wonder why mgmt has sent orders down to the media to constantly fluff him

I wouldn't focus blame on Matthews/Marner.... if the D can transition the f***ing puck up the ice.......... Holl is absolute DOG SHIT!

I hear you. Then you have to address the core of your team.

Yup. All the "Relax, we'll play great and once again all the moves Dubas made were awesome!!" talk can end now. We're WASTING another year of Matthews and Marner and Nylander.

Pump his trade value? Might get a buyer

Depends what you mean by structutal.

Systems and attention to detail, we havent seem these issues since the final Babcock days and similar to now most of those werent over a long period (say 12+ months).

If its the makeup of the roster, our top players simply havent shown like it when needed
