Just imagine how bad things would be without Tavares, Kampf and Samsonov.

The rest of them are crapping the bed right now.
Samsonov lets in 4 and post a .862 sv% and was Leafs MVP and best player on the night,.

Usually you would blame the goalie for the loss but he was the only one that saved them tonight from a much worst result.

What kind of culture do you expect when the GM who overpays will even go to bat for you to bat for you in the media when you shit the bed in the playoffs time and time again? He'll even call criticism of you "idiotic".

Dubas just straight up doesn't believe in accountiblity.

I bleed blue, I spend 1000's of my dollars on this team every year.... but man, this is f***ing embarrassing.

man no offense but you are part of the problem.. stop giving them money. i stopped buy leafs stuff after the embarassment of the montreal series. I was so pissed and still am that dubas/keefe are still running the show. i am not paying mlse even a penny from my pocket until dubas/keefe and may be shanahan are fired

GM believed in them. Refused to even dump Kerfoot or whatever. He's about to get spit in the face if this keeps up. Insane.

Yes, but he was not wearing skates tonight.

If you're suggesting on ice personnel changes need to be made, not sure I am there yet.

Unless this is as good a team Matthews and gang can be.

Rielly extension is justified even if he isn't a great player he's okay.

Sometimes you have to change the coach to change the results.

Players are next in line for accountability. Coach and GM have done everything for them. Designed systems and built teams for the core to be successful and they have unfortunately failed, at least to start the season. They have come out and played like they need a AAA remedial course.

This guy is right. We have had a GM and coach be extremely hard on them. They haven't responded. They have a GM and coach which have done everything to support them and their success. They have responded better at times but ultimately what is it going to take for these guys?

Honestly he wasnt great. Goalies make saves, so a few nice ones should be the expectation.

He was sloppy with his movement and played really wide which led to lots of holes.

Why choose one?
I expect both to happen, but only 1 in the next 2 weeks

I could be wrong on this, but this team is incapable of keeping things simple. I'm all for a cycle/puck-possession offense, but at some point, someone needs to drive to the center of the ice or find an open look from the point and score a dirty goal. They also turn the puck over in the worst spots possible, between Sandin holding the puck for too long with a forechecker right behind him, or when they do those dropback passes that get turned over when they enter the zone, which allows the other team to get a rush chance. I still have faith that this team will find a way out of this rut; I just don't think this team has the habits necessary for sustained success.

Tonight's meltdown started with a great takeaway from Engvall on the PK who sped up the ice on a turnover. Not 10 feet beyond his own blueline with pressure on, he decides to lateral a pass to center ice which results in a goal against. He could have skated further before assessing options. He could have taken the win and curled the puck down into the corner to burn off another 20 seconds. But no.
