Two gold medals, right? Granted he hasn’t won a playoff round since the mighty ducks became the ducks.

In all seriousness the Leafs have not looked good this year and in the playoffs last year. He’s in charge.

Someone needs to ask him who the Zach Hyman is on the coaching staff? Cause it ain’t him!

Is this a trick question?:tinker:

Well then we don’t play hockey as well as other playoff teams.

Which is probably why we play less hockey than other playoff teams.

and there are teams who do wha you want, and they tend to leave earlier as well. so no. you can't just be all "we aren't playoff gritty." and be like that's the end all and bea all because there are "playoff grity" teams that leave just as early.

We’re missing our second best winger. This team has 12 million dollars in cap space and is still 6-3.

But they haven’t played 6-3 hockey.

I doubt the missing guy is going to change the whole team philosophy.

I highly doubt Babcock will be fired for a couple of years, unless Matthews or Marner say they won’t sign or the miss the playoffs this year.

I will add, 10 years of not winning a playoff round and falling into the same trap that prevented previous teams from winnng in the playoffs is not just a trend, but a resume.

I’m honestly convinced you’re just here to whine about things you can’t change because you want everyone to be miserable.
Things I can't change? No f***ing shit smart guy. Wtf are you even on about? Literally every person on this board is here to discuss things they can't change.

Do you not know what the ignore button does? You clearly don't like reading things you don't want to hear, maybe it's time to take the plunge.

Babcock has been here 3 full seasons, Matthews and Marner have been here for two, Tavares has been here for 9 games.

The teams success prior to them joining is completely irrelevant, as a fan it sucks but they have nothing to do with that failure.

Babcock has had the same “lack of success “ for 10 years. That cannot be ignored.

I deleted my post but if you want to get into it let’s get into it. You overreact to everything and never stop whining about whatever your pet grudge is. It’s exhausting, we’re here to discuss and cheer on the Leafs not be your personal therapy space.

Usually, because they have lost to a superior"Gritty" team that combines skill with grit rather than lose to a team that is all skill and no grit.

So ignore me. If you have ill feelings towards what I post, don't read it.

You're against whining and here you are whining about my whining, what sounds wrong here to you?

Same shit happened last year, only a few months later, when Babcock tried to force defensive mindset and killed the offense of the team. Than he realized it just doesnt work and doesnt make sense.

Now he's back at it again, I dont ask me why.

Why exactly does what he did with a Detroit team that was past its prime matter?

It doesn't matter because they accomplished nothing, same as his current team. The media needs to hold his feet to the fire at some point. Every day he gets to stand on his soapbox and preach about how great he is and the reporters just eat it up. It's not an accident that he throws his team under the bus after every loss (not hungry, didn't "battle hard" blah blah), that is how he reconciles his team losing with his superior hockey smarts. When it happens continuously, maybe it's the guy in charge that is to blame.

I don’t like echo chambers and you say interesting things now and then. You went after me for pointing out we had 12 million in cap, I wasn’t looking to argue with you.

After a loss sometimes the hot takes and overreactions are a little much, that’s not directed at you it’s just a comment in general.

It’s called a resume....

The best coach in the world and I’m not saying Babcock is, still has to work with the limitation of his players. Babcock kept that team competitive far longer than it had any right.

I think we should judge Babcock and this team on their time here not what happened before them. Apart from a few brief spots in the 90’s this team has been bad since the 70’s but none of that has anything to do with our team today.
