The blame lies with Shanahan.

He misplayed his cards with Dubas and then hired Tre, a GM with a fairly mediocre resume and track record, with just days before the draft and free agency. Tre, subsequently, made quite mediocre moves. Everyone but Tre knew that Reaves and Klingberg would be a disaster on this team.

This is not how you run a franchise with championship mentality and aspirations, and a long term vision.

Matthews and Marner have been absolute DOG SHIT together in the playoffs. They can't get shit done there. And then they've been dog shit to start the season.

I am so f***ing sick of Keefe not breaking them when they are not doing anything for the team. not f***ing creating depth by having Matthews/Tavares/Marner on seprate lines. They f***ing took all the depth money; put them on separate lines.

If Keefe doesn't have the balls to break up matthews-marner get a coach who can. This is about TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS this isn't about f***ing matthews and marner

Matthews shot is cooked and unfortunately he’s not good enough all around to offset that and justify his cap hit

Shit situation

This is a mediocre team, goaltending and defense are mediocre while our forwards have been slightly better then average. Getting to the playoffs is going to be a grind and even then, there has been nothing so far this season that's showed me they can do some damage.

I don't think the first 20 games the team has shown any glimpse of being a dominant team. I just don't know how the team is suppose to be playing? We are just vanilla.

I don't appreciate Matthews and Marner at all. Brain dead, low effort, can't flip the switch at the end of the game. Getting destroyed defensively.
Marner in particular has been a disaster. I Can get behind Knies next to Matthews. Marner deserves relegation to the third line until he sorts his shit out. That line has been ass mostly because of his lack of a brain

Nylander is a secondary piece, in no other market would they be saying he's worth 11 million. Because he's not even close.
When you have Mickey Mouse Marner and lazy bum Matthews, he’s gonna look like a main piece compared to that

We are gonna regret the Matthews signing so bad

A top 10 Center swindled us into thinking he’s a top 3 player

Nylander will now proceed to score 6 in 10 and finish with ~80 points. At least we will ONLY have to pay him 9 million

Marner should stop playing hockey. Go play golf, no contact and probably have tons of hours put into it. He’s such a waste of an asset. Should’ve been dealt 4 years ago. I’d rather let him walk then sign him back, he takes playing for the leafs for granted.

I don’t think anyone is regretting it. I think Toronto is happy it’s at 4 year deal and not an 8 year like most fans wanted. Somehow you gotta get McDavid here in two years and move on from some of this core

Honestly just looks flat out bad in general at this point. He looks slower, less creative, his shot is as weak as ever.

Marner hasn't improved, he's become extremely predictable and quite honestly looks to already be regressing.

Don't care about dubas, Matthew and marner not looking good these days but this loss comes down to one guy only. Brodie. Dude threw the game into the toilet full stop
He's been awful going back to last year. His po performance was pathetic. He's cooked
He's just not good enough to be playing as much as he is.

Top line has nothing. Even when they used to do nothing they would still cycle you to death for a 99% xGF then go to the bench. This is the first time it's literally nothing.

We did dominate that 3rd period though. It wasn't even close who the better team was....Just no goals to show for it.

Isn't that turd Marner making nearly 11mil?

Tough to argue Willie Isn't worth 13, when you have a moronic GM handing out contracts like its christmas time.

Most people also don't care... The Leafs are playing bad right now I want to figure out how to fix that... the people who are obsessed with this are the people who hated Dubas.
I also would like for them to fix it but I don’t think it’s going to be a simple fix. Their hands are tied with the cap structure and when two of your supposed top players are not getting it done that’s a problem.
what do you work on first and how

This season has been 99% on M&M

They have 21 and 20 in 19…. 90 and 86 point paces

Dubas, treliving, Yzermann, Sakic. It f***ing doesn’t matter when those two are playing like shit
