Lol Minten wasn't traded for Laughton dumbass. Carlo > Minton every day of the week
I know Minten wasn't traded for Laughton, but Brad traded for Scott because he thought he was trading for a 3C who could then make Minten expendable and hence he was put into the Carlo trade. What I'm saying is that Brad SCREWED UP BIGTIME and should have NEVER done the Laughton deal when Minten or Steeves could probably fill the same job for free and used a 1st, Grebenkin and maybe another pick to try and get Carlo instead if Brad still really wanted him.

Brad's Jeff Finger

Yup. Full mail-in, per usual when the going gets tough. We don't have the gear Florida showed tonite. Relentless.
Our guys don't like it when the game get greasy, Florida is about as greasy as it gets. It's really men vs boys out there.
Badly outshot, outhit, oughtskated, scoring chances were double in the Cats' favor.

If it's Florida/Tampa I'm praying Vasilevsky turns back the clock and we get the Bolts in round 2.

Amazing that the Habs and Sens can beat these guys multiple times (Habs swept the season series, 4-0 against Florida! Sens went 3-1-0) yet the Leafs could barely squeak out one win in four attempts, and looked vastly outplayed in each game.

Laughton wasn't and isn't a long term solution. Treliving would know that

And the Habs are 18-6 against Atlantic division teams this season. Impressive.

This was not the worst outcome, we need Florida ahead of Ottawa, but now we have to win against Tampa or we might finish second and play Florida anyways.

Having said that, if the big guns decide they don’t want to play, they aren’t going to win. Matthews no effort, Tavares couldn’t handle the puck, and Rielly…I got no words for how shit this guy has been playing this season. He has ZERO offensive IQ. And we know he can’t play play defence.

There were a couple spots where Rielly walked in alone to the circles and instead of taking a shot ended up doing nothing with it and losing the puck. Those were the exact kind of looks Montour buried us with last year, except we somehow turn it into more backcheck cardio.

And if Toronto had won tonight the “fans” would be insisting Florida intentionally threw the game because Paul Maurice is playing 4-D chess and scheming to create a first round matchup against the Leafs.

Maurice in fact did the opposite. He reminded the Leafs how little they can do against them and gave them a week to figure it out. Knies gets it in the post game. He dropped the comment that they need to figure it out. Maurice knows they cant.

Ive said it 1000 times... Marner has 1 gear.

The good news is you get that consistent gear all season.

The bad news... in the playoffs, while most players add an extra gear, and add physicality and grit and desperation, Marner does not.

I watched a replay of game 6 vs Boston yesterday and what an incredible gutsy performance by the Leafs. They were relentless and finishing every hit. Domi dumped Marchand after the whistle in the crease, in front of the ref... no penalty, Marchand getting a little taste of his own medicine. Pastrnak was leveled by someone on D. Tavares was incredible on the forecheck. Even Nylander threw the biggest hit I have ever seen him throw on Wotherspoon, put him on his ass. Nylander also scored both Leaf goals in the win.

Marner though...no desperation... not finishing any hits, not going to dirty areas. Same regular season effort.

It is ok to have a bad game. the problem is when u have bad games against the same team, that u might go against in the playoffs. Please solve Panters and Ottawa ffs.
