I think he never had the room. He was out of his depth from day 1. His ineptitude was masked by the lineup.

Tavares and Nylander are the only ones besides Samsonov showing any signs of life. Too bad Tavares was injured when he’s looked the best he has in years.

Kerfoot and Engvall sucks, get them off my TV permanently.

Awful uninspired game with little effort most of the night.

Nothing really to be excited about for this season, they can’t score goals, goaltending is the only small bright spot that I’ve seen this season, namely Samsonov. Murray and Kallgren still sucks.

This game and DAL were the only games where we were the worse team, and DAL was nowhere near as bad as this.

Our good players need to start playing like good players. No different for any other team. Everything else clicks from there.

NEED ACCOUNTABILITY!!!! You cannot keep giving ice time to players who aren't producing. That's setting a really bad precedence.

Let's not pretend like this game is the norm for the Leafs. Fans may think it is, but not even close.

They have a couple of games like this per year. As does literally every team in the NHL (and a couple would be generous for over half of the league).

They've had 3/7 no show sleepwalk games this year in Vegas, Montreal and Arizona. So the small sample size of the season and ratio of bad hockey is not a positive.

Good to see JT come back out, and that line with Nylander and Robertson are a real bright spot thus far.

Clifford and Engvall need to sit, and Liljegren can’t come back soon enough.

Put Engvall on the 4th line with Kampf before you sit him again. Let him go back to what he did well with the guy he did well with last year.

If Simmonds can't hack it on a shutdown line, then you give the job to the better of NAK or ZAR until one figures it out.

Matthews has been just as bad as Bunting and Marner. The loosey goosey, lazy loops, casualness with the puck, mad scrambles back to defense and lack of focus on the special teams is just as bad as anything else on that line.

Matthews has been winning puck battles/board battles. Puck goes in the offensive zone if it is not on Matthews' stick it is out of offensive zone in a jiffy.

Also, they are taking away the Matthews shot on PP; so Leafs need to do something different except they have two muffins in marner/rielly on the PP; Rielly doesn't evven have a slapper; if I was Matthews I'd be frustrated with my linemates.

Yeah, that was definitely a Leafs game.
- Fail to show up to start all three periods on time.
- Win a challenge then squander it immediately.
- Show flashes of brilliance for like 4 shifts in the entire game.
- Stars don't really show up at all - again.
- Hang your goalie out to dry (who was great)
- Pack up early, halfway through the third as trying to tie a game you're behind in is hard and we don't do hard.
