The loss would have been easier to handle if it was because our goalie shit the bed or because our depth was invisible. The fact that it was Matthews and Marner, the two guys we’ve been praising for the the last 5 years, f***ing hurts.

I legit thought they were gonna go down as the greatest Leafs in history.

Keefe massively overrated and got outcoached both last year vs columbus and now mtl. They both had the same game plan. He even admitted post game habs played different this game and clogged the zone more. Just a coach who was rushed to the big seat. I put that and

This is why bridges make so much sense. Keep the players hungry to prove themselves. Even if they do you're probably breaking relatively even on salary if you were giving $11M dollars anyways.

Making Dubas our GM at such a critical time ruined this rebuild cycle.

When I mentioned this type of stuff 3years ago when they sign mariner and Matthews I was torch Matthews and mariner really don’t care Free money maybe they’re still playing hockey like they’re five years old when you get a trophy no matter what this is the NHL trying to put on your big boy pants

Ben Hutton was traded for a 5th he played 4 games!

David BIG SAVE DAVE Rittich was traded for a 3rd...he is a third!

Alexander Barbanov had 7pts in 9 games for San Jose!

What the hell has Eichel ever proven? He whines when the going gets tough, quits on coaches, and waits for others to fix the problems around him rather than stepping up and leading as a captain.

Unfortunately, our "skill" lost it.

The core of this team did not have the backbone to respond nor set the pace.

34/16 did not produce.

To be fair, our grit did not perform either.

1st loss was on Sandin mistakes
2nd loss was again on Sandin mistake
3rd loss was on Dermott mistake
4th loss was campbell letting in a bad goal

but in all the 4 losses offense just did not show up. I just saw the campbell interview. feel bad for him. he did nothing wrong. the 11 AAV offense again did not show up.

With the Leafs you clog neutral zone and the so called fire power from matthews and marner just goes away; they cannot navigate tight checking hockey.

The worst thing I've ever noticed from coaching standpoint is Keefe never separated matthews-marner throughout 7 games even when they weren't doing much.

as a coach you have to get your guys going and keefe absolutely failed in getting his guys going.

I just can't take getting invested in this team anymore, i took time off before, i REALLY thought this was gonna be the year, the beginning, maybe not the cup run, but at least 2 rounds.

Not even mad, expected it to be like this. The grit fans said thats why you need those players for moments like this game, so where was it? A first for a gritty plug in Foligno? Great move. While can't win with skilled player Hall is doing great for Boston who funny enough focused on skill. Hopefully Dubas gets another chancd to build this team his way, and not the way some folks wanted.


Umm yeah maybe don't build a team with plugs who can't play.

With that being said, a core player needs to go and thats magic money Mitch. Disaster series for passer expert. Knowing this franchise, they will trade Nylander because he actually showed up.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Let’s get one thing straight: DUBAS DOESN’T BUILD THE TEAM BASED ON THE FANS. This team was built exactly the way dubas wanted and it still lost. He chose to trade for foligno over hall, not us fans. We can say it all we want, but there’s no way in hell dubas listens to the fans on HFboards like he does to his professional scouting department. He had his “stars” , he had his awful no good terrible coach. He had HIS depth that he chose, no one in that bottom six was a cap dump like marleau was before. He got his Dman in Brodie, his fraud in Holl and his top dman in Rielly and muzzin. He had goaltending. Game 7 goaltending was bad, but we shouldn’t have even been there in the first place, game 5 should’ve been it, but the team He, not the fans sitting at home on their computers and phones, dubas himself built messed up and now we are here.

I’ll agree with you that one of the star players have to go. Tavares and Nylander are non-starters for trades. Matthews is our “franchise player” so he’s out. That leaves the boy who shagged his own hometown team for his contract in Marner to be shipped out.

Habs were the better team as the series went along. Can't even really be mad. Leafs got what they deserved.

Something has to change with the core heading into next season.

This is exactly why Dubas MUST be fired. Truly horror show level trades.

Not a single acquisition actually helped the team at all.

I gave McDavid/Draistil grief about this so same is for gander.
Matthews and Marner loooked more excited about winning the Rocket than they look gutted blowing an amazing chance for themselves.. They were not good enough. there was no ownership in this loss from their point of view. it was just like. "yeah. there's nothing more to be said, sorry ma, i forgot the milk."
